2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

In 1967 Chevrolet built a special version of the Camaro to compete in the Trans-Am 2 class on the Sports Club of America circuit. The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, while not made specifically for the track, would surely be able to hold its own.

Within its own family the Z28 is much lighter and faster than its ZL1 sibling. “Muscle” car lovers might find themselves comparing it to the Ford Mustang Boss 302, and would revel watching these 2 side by side on a drag strip.

The new Camaro Z28 is aerodynamically designed. The front façade features a large splitter. The front and rear wheel wells have a huge flare and there are rocker panels on each side. The rear includes a trunk mounted spoiler and an operational diffuser.

The rear window is smaller than the ZL1 as a weight saving measure. Gone are the HID headlights and fog lamps too. The overall savings in pounds equals 300.

Inside the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, you will find a matte-metallic octane finish trim. The steering wheel is flat bottomed and the Recaro, micro-fiber suede insert seats are inspired by racing buckets with a 5 point harness design.

With another consideration to weight, air conditioning and a 6 speaker audio system (vs. just one speaker otherwise) are offered as options.

This retro named vehicle comes with a price tag of $75,000, quite the pricey Camaro. With its Spring release timeframe, it should be available in most areas now.

2014 Skoda Vision C Concept

Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show was the 2014 Skoda Vision C Concept.

The initial impression you get is that the ‘C’ denotes coupe, as evidenced by its styling. However, it is not a coupe, “technically”.

The Vision C presents an effort from the Czech brand to move up the market with its vehicle offerings.

The Vision C concept will be equipped with a 1.4 liter TSI gasoline engine which generates 109 horsepower.

The car also comes with a CNG fuel option as well, which will help the Vision C achieve amazingly low CO2 levels, and comply with the European Union’s 2020 emission standards.

The Skoda Vision C has familiar design language with definite lines, which look sharper. The Vision C seems to have borrowed the design cues from its cousin, the Audi A7 Sportback.

The Vision C concept is a five door coupe with a notchback design, wherein the tailgate opens with the rear windscreen. The front hood and grille design resembles the current generation Skoda cars, but much more sharper.

The headlights and taillights look angular and add to the overall sharp design of the car. The car is built of lightweight materials to help it in achieving higher fuel efficiency and lower emission levels. The coupe style also helps in achieving the same.

The interiors complement the exterior design language. The interior is dynamic, sleek and elegant. The interior features an interplay of convex and concave surfaces.

The material used is of top quality and the vehicle has plenty of space inside for four people to sit comfortably.

Vision C drive technology is very close to the production and we can expect to see this car in the market sooner than later. According to Skoda, the car is likely to be positioned with the Octavia and Superb models.

2014 Honda Civic Type R Concept

Honda revealed the 2014 Honda Civic Type R concept at the Geneva Motor Show.

The car showcases the design language of the eagerly anticipated production version in 2015.

The sporty and aerodynamic design reflects performance credentials expected out from Honda. The design team has called this car as the “racing car for the roads”.

It has a distinctive character and ready to perform.
Engine & Performance

The Type R is expected to feature a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that produces a whopping 280 horsepower.

It comes with Honda’s VTEC variable valve timing and has been paired with a six speed manual gearbox.

The styling of the Civic Type R is linked to performance. Many of the features are not just for cosmetics sake, but they play a functional role in enhancing performance of the car. The design team has worked extensively to reduce the drag and achieve the optimum airflow.

Also, a conscious effort has been made to provide ample down-force to enable high speed performance. The front spoiler has been designed to add down force and the cut out shape of the bumper at the front helps in reducing drag.

The headlamps come with a new design with integrated daytime LED lights. The double rear wing has been designed keeping in mind the aerodynamics of the car. The low set design of 20-inch wheels goes well with the sportiness of the car.

The new Type R concept features sporty interiors, along with the use of high quality materials. As a concept, expect the production version to feature a more refined and functional interior. The space inside more than sufficient.

The 2014 Honda Civic Type R concept was built to meet expectations, the production model is not expected until 2015.

The concept is close to the production version and few changes will be seen when it goes into production.
