2014 Honda Civic Type R Concept

Honda revealed the 2014 Honda Civic Type R concept at the Geneva Motor Show.

The car showcases the design language of the eagerly anticipated production version in 2015.

The sporty and aerodynamic design reflects performance credentials expected out from Honda. The design team has called this car as the "racing car for the roads".

It has a distinctive character and ready to perform.
Engine & Performance

The Type R is expected to feature a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that produces a whopping 280 horsepower.

It comes with Honda’s VTEC variable valve timing and has been paired with a six speed manual gearbox.

The styling of the Civic Type R is linked to performance. Many of the features are not just for cosmetics sake, but they play a functional role in enhancing performance of the car. The design team has worked extensively to reduce the drag and achieve the optimum airflow.

Also, a conscious effort has been made to provide ample down-force to enable high speed performance. The front spoiler has been designed to add down force and the cut out shape of the bumper at the front helps in reducing drag.

The headlamps come with a new design with integrated daytime LED lights. The double rear wing has been designed keeping in mind the aerodynamics of the car. The low set design of 20-inch wheels goes well with the sportiness of the car.

The new Type R concept features sporty interiors, along with the use of high quality materials. As a concept, expect the production version to feature a more refined and functional interior. The space inside more than sufficient.

The 2014 Honda Civic Type R concept was built to meet expectations, the production model is not expected until 2015.

The concept is close to the production version and few changes will be seen when it goes into production.

* 2014 specs

Under the hood of the 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible is a 3.7 Liter, V6 capable of 305 horsepower. This base engine will accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 6 seconds at a top speed of 155 mph.

The GT model is equipped with a 5.0 Liter, V8 that cranks out 420 horses. Both engines will be mated with a Getrag manual transmission with an automatic trans optional.

The new Mustang Convertible has taken on a European flair.

When the car approaches you there is no mistaking the prominent steed logo galloping across the front grille. An extension of the grille below the front bumper provides additional air flow.

The horizontal headlights are thin and wrap around to the front fender. Three 45 degree angled "slits" within the headlamp compartment provides a sexy touch.

The profile view of the ragtop differs from the coupe with the rear section appearing straighter which was accomplished by lifting the body molding and redesigning the trunk lid.

The soft fabric top is secured by just a single latch mounted in the center that can be raised and lowered at the touch of a button.

The 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible has an aeronautically inspired interior featuring a retro style steering wheel.

There is a nice video display sitting in the upper portion of the center console with the other physical control knobs and buttons resting underneath it.

The rear seating is more than ample and much roomier than you might expect for a convertible. The trunk is also a decent size measuring 11.4 cubic feet of cargo space.
