As if the 458 Italia was not race ready enough, the Italian automaker decided to enhance its performance by introducing the 2013 racing one Ferrari 458 Competition version.

The racing one team has come up with an aerodynamics package combining higher output with improved balance. It also provides for a better and broader wheel-tire combination.

Another distinct aspect of the racing one Ferrari 458 is that its light weight, just 2,690 pounds as opposed to the production model at 3,935 lbs.

Engine & Performance

Obviously, the main thrust of the racing one Ferrari 458 is under its hood, where you will find a 4.5 liter, V8 engine capable of delivering 620 horsepower.

The car features variable traction control paired with a 7 speed racing gearbox with a Getrag rocker switch. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, with an estimated top speed of 200 mph.

As mentioned above, the 458 Competition's performance has much to do with aerodynamics. This is made clear by its exterior that include a new front spoiler, side skirts, and a new rear spoiler and wing as well.

The front air intake displays the proud Ferrari steed in its center and the hood features a huge reverse hood scoop for air flow. The headlamp compartment runs vertically towards the windshield.

The profile view is mostly wheels, with a low stance and bubble-like roof line swooping front to back.

The new rear wing dominates the vehicles rear, with small cylindrical taillights and centered dual exhausts at its bottom.


A glimpse inside is what you would expect of a race car. A heavily padded steering wheel is surrounded by red a blue function buttons. The Ferrari logo makes another appearance at the center.

Prominent is a performance display screen which sits where the speedometer and tachometer are normally located.

2013 Subaru Levorg Concept

During the 2013 Tokyo Motor-show, Subaru unveiled the 2013 Subaru Levorg concept. This is an amazing sporty wagon that is set to get into the market, especially Japan next year.

The all-wheel-drive comes with 2 engine choices; a 1.6 liter Boxer turbocharged 4-cylinder or a much larger 2.0 liter Boxer four cylinder turbocharged engine.

The smaller engine produces 168 horsepower with 184 lb-ft of torque; while the 2.0 liter engine produces 296 horsepower and 295 lbs ft of torque. For both engines, a CVT transmission are available while the smaller engine gets the standard linear-tronic CVT.


The body is available in 2 different colors; Pearl crystal white and metallic blue-grey steel. With enough cargo space, the far end of the car’s roof is kept quite low to create a sleek silhouette from front to rear.

This car has a dynamic front design that has a 3-dimensional feel that has been made possible through employing nose cone. The Levorg features a standard Subaru hexagon grille. The shape of the brand new hawk eye headlights emphasizes this car’s low, wide stance.

Inside, the desginers have outfitted it with a 3.5 inch instrument dials, piano black plus metallic trim and flat-bottom steering wheel. There are satin plated rings that also have ice blue lighting that emphasize a very sharp high-tech look.

Another great feature of this car is the sportiness portrayed in D-shaped steering wheel. This helps make for a very fun driving experience.


The new Subaru Levorg has been installed with an Emergency Stop Signal that quickly flashes hazard-warning lights when it makes sudden deceleration from a very high speed. This warns the car behind it of a rapid approach and any collision risk.

The car is also equipped with 7 airbags together with knee airbag in driver’s seat.

2013 Volkswagen Twin Up Concept

The 2013 Volkswagen Twin Up Concept is an ultra fuel efficient car showcased by VW at the Tokyo Motor Show. The indications suggest that vehicle may make its real world debut.

Hybrid System

The Twin Up concept comes with a drive unit that comes in the form of a 0.8 liter diesel motor, an electric motor that produces 35kW, and a 7 speed DSG. The engine is located behind the rear seats.

The combined output is 74 horsepower and a maximum torque of 159 lb-ft. The car can run up to 31 miles in all-electric mode, with zero emissions. The engine is not just about efficiency, but it can be a fun to drive as well.

The Twin Up can do a 0-60 mph dash in 8.8 seconds. In all-electric mode, the car has a top speed of 78 mph (125 km/h), which is respectable for its size. In hybrid mode, the vehicle can clock a top speed of 87 mph (140 km/h). The car has an unladen weight of 2657 lbs, which allows the vehicle to achieve amazing efficiency.

The design of the Twin Up concept is compact. The external design is that of a neat and cute looking hatch. The huge glass rear door gives a distinctive look to the vehicle.

The Twin Up is only a concept and the final design of the production model may be a lot different. VW showcased the concept in Tokyo in sparkling white with blue glass flakes.


The interior color of the model unveiled was in ceramic, along with accents of blue. The concept version had a non-traditional dashboard with all digital controls and instrumentation.

At this stage the whole Twin Up project is a concept. However, if number crunching supports, then VW may push this out in the market for immediate public consumption, just like the XL1.

Very little is known about the car’s engine, but it is expected that it will initially be available in the high-end V8 supercharged and Autobiography trim levels. The 5.0 liter engine produces 510 horsepower with a towing capability of 7700 lbs.

It’s expected that a V6 option and the new hybrid powertrain will be available.

This long-wheelbase model is denoted by an L’ badge on the front fender and the tailgate. The engineers have added about 8 inches to the wheelbase; this was achieved by stretching the aluminum uni-body structure. This equates to 5.5 inches more rear seating legroom than the standard models. You may opt for other features that include a massage function.

A unique design with a great finish has been given to front grille and the side vents. Black enamel and chrome are on the front grille. The tail-lights are encased in black enamel. This SUV dons a lot of chrome to complement its 21 inch wheels.


The interior has been finished with top quality leather and other material. The LWB incorporates individualized front and rear seating packaging with bespoke seat cover design.

Inside, most surfaces are wrapped in leather and are contrasted by wood veneers with brushed stainless steel.

If you choose the 2 individual rear seats, the Autobiography Black trim, it has a table that may be electronically activated, these are covered in black leather to go with integrated USB charging sockets.

The 6.3 liter V8 engine was fine tuned to produce a total of 591 horsepower at 6800 rpm, to go with its 481 lbs ft of torque.

The air outlets, rear aero-foil and front splitter reduce the lift on both the rear and the front axle.

With extra downforce, the car behaves decently at high speeds. The wider wheels give it more grip on the road making it easier to steer at higher speeds.


The exterior of the car has been upgraded with a carbon fiber rear spoiler and bonnet. Mercedes added two air intakes to the front bumper right beneath the headlights and a central air outlet on the bonnet.

The struts on the rear have been finished in high-gloss black while the stock doors were completely removed and replaced with gull-wing doors. Additionally, the upgrade kit comes with black painted rims and brake plates in red.


The seats, doors and central panel are covered with diamond pattern leather. Mercedes replaced the stock console with a carbon-fiber while the instrument panel are covered in leather.

The MB-AMG team worked on delivering a kit that makes this SLS GT look more like a super sports car. With only 350 units expected, they are set for release in March 2014. It will be available in either the Coupe or Roadster trims.
