2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG

It wasn’t a surprise when the AMG version of just unveiled Mercedes-Benz GLA –Class was released. This was after Mercedes revealed GLA 45 AMG concept during L.A. Auto Show in 2013 .

The new 2015 Mercedes Benz GLAA45 AMG made its own official debut at 2014 Detroit Auto Show. With just several days before it makes its official debut, the company decided to release some of the features of this compact SUV.

Engine

The new GLA45 is powered by a 2.0 liter, turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that gives you 355 horsepower with a torque of 332 lb ft.

The engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT seven -speed sports transmission . The GLA45 AMG comes with 3 driving modes; C for controlled efficiency, S for sport mode and M for manual mode. This SUV can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.8 seconds and has top speed of about 155 mph.

Exterior

The 2015 GLA45 is distinguished by some normal elements seen in other AMG models.

New features included is the distinctive AMG lettering located at the side just between louvers of radiator grille and some black flicks that are placed next to the huge cooling air intakes located sides. The rear has been updated with brand new diffuser inserts and one sports exhaust with some dual rectangular tailpipes.

The vehicle features standard bi-xenon head-lights and AMG alloy wheels in 3 designs. This compact SUV can also be upgraded with other packages.

One of these packages include an Aerodynamics package which adds a large front splitter and some additional flicks on rear spoiler and front apron.

Interior

On the inside, the same elements found on the previous AMG models are evident. These are sports seats wrapped in leather and also Dinamica microfiber with a beautiful red contrast stitching.

The instrument panel is an AMG instrument cluster; this gives the driver any information he/she needs on the SUV’s performance.

2015 Mercedes-Benz S600

The 2014 Detroit Auto Show gave the public a first had glimpse of the new 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600. Known as the company’s flagship model, the 2015 S600 has been upgraded and refined.

Engine

The top of the line Mercedes is equipped with a V12 biturbo engine. Outperforming the previous model, this V12 has an output of 530 horsepower and a displacement of 5980cc.

In addition, you can expect the standard engine features such as hollow stem outlet valves, a one piece chain drive and a cam follower.

The three valve technology feature and the engine control unit are also a part of the S600’s new engine overhaul. These advanced engine features assist the S600 in surpassing the industry emissions qualifications and in having lower combined fuel consumption than the older models of the luxury sedan.

Features

When the S600 launches stateside in March of 2014, customers will have the option to obtain the new touch pad technology. The new feature works much in the same way as the Smartphone, but will be available in different languages.

In addition, the new head’s up display capabilities help drivers with on road distractions, navigation and speed limit control. A start and stop function will also come on all models for the first time in the S600’s history.

Safety

Collision Prevention Assist Plus will be standard and will accompany the advanced Brake assist technology feature. Mercedes has also included the Road Surface Scan System and Active Blind Spot Assist as standards on the new S600.

The advanced safety technology on the S600 was designed to help lessen the severity of collisions when the vehicle reaches certain speeds.

2015 Porsche 911 Targa

The 2015 Porsche 911 Targa was introduced by the German sports car company in 2014. It was presented at Detroit’s North American International Auto Show.

The car represents the most recent in the long line of versions of Porsche’s storied 911 brand, but contains a number of innovations. In particular, this is the first 911 to be combined to highly technologically advanced roof technology with the Targa idea that has served the company so well over the years.

Engine & Performance

There are two six-cylinder engines for the 2015 model. The basic Targa 4 model offers a 3.4 liter, 350 horsepower engine that takes the car from 0-62 mph in just under five seconds and on to a maximum speed of 175 mph.

The more powerful Targa 4S iteration of the car increases the power to 3.8 liter 400 horsepower engine. An advanced Sport Chrono/PDK trim, this 911 can hit 184 mph and perform the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.4 seconds.

Carbon dioxide emissions are around the 225 g/km mark, while gas consumption runs at 25 mpg. The car is fitted with all-wheel drive.

New Technology

The underlying concept for the Targa models has always been seen in its window and pillar designs, and these remain broadly the same. There is no C-pillar, with the rear window instead wrapping around.

Above the front seats is a section of roof which can be removed to give the car a semi-open feel. The B-pillars are also gone, replaced by the wide bar that has always been a Targa feature.

However, driver convenience has been greatly increased with the introduction of a power-operated movable section; this can be operated by a simple push of a button.

Exterior & Interior

The new 911’s dashboard maintains the classic look of previous versions, with a 4.6-inch color screen being added to the five standard dials, including center-mounted tachometer.

The console, which slopes forward, allows easy access to important controls including roof operation.

Black fabric is used to line the interior of the Targa bar and roof, and there is space for the detachable part of the top to be stowed behind the rear seats.

The rear window has been designed to allow the maximum possible amount of light into the car’s cabin.

2013 Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept

The 2013 Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept was introduced on November 20.

This sporty sedan is a high performance vehicle that has drastically amped up specs compared to the base Nissan Sentra.

Engine

The Sentra Nismo’s engine is supercharged. The engine tuned by NISMO is a DIG (Direct Injection Gasoline) 1.8 liter 4 cylinder. It is expected to give you more than 240 horsepower, along with 240 lbs ft of torque.

Another upgrade on this Nismo concept car is that it has switched out the brakes. In its place, the NISMO team has installed Brembo calipers to go with a new steering wheel and a six speed manual transmission.

Exterior

This sedan has been given a sportier and more aggressive look with its sharp angles and fluid lines. The front has a new fascia while the rear has brand new spoilers and a set of dual exhaust pipes.

The red trim around the base of the entire car looks phenomenal against the white body and black accents while the entire frame keeps low to the ground and boasts a fierce appearance.

Interior

Upon opening the driver side door of this Nissan Sentra Nismo concept, you are greeted with a solid charcoal grey interior trimmed by red stitching. The front bucket seats are adequately padded to provide the comfort you deserve.

Overall it has a simple yet striking interior design with all the necessities, and none of the high tech gadgets cluttering the dash.

2013 Racing One Ferrari 458 Competition

As if the 458 Italia was not race ready enough, the Italian automaker decided to enhance its performance by introducing the 2013 racing one Ferrari 458 Competition version.

The racing one team has come up with an aerodynamics package combining higher output with improved balance. It also provides for a better and broader wheel-tire combination.

Another distinct aspect of the racing one Ferrari 458 is that its light weight, just 2,690 pounds as opposed to the production model at 3,935 lbs.

Engine & Performance

Obviously, the main thrust of the racing one Ferrari 458 is under its hood, where you will find a 4.5 liter, V8 engine capable of delivering 620 horsepower.

The car features variable traction control paired with a 7 speed racing gearbox with a Getrag rocker switch. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, with an estimated top speed of 200 mph.

Exterior

As mentioned above, the 458 Competition’s performance has much to do with aerodynamics. This is made clear by its exterior that include a new front spoiler, side skirts, and a new rear spoiler and wing as well.

The front air intake displays the proud Ferrari steed in its center and the hood features a huge reverse hood scoop for air flow. The headlamp compartment runs vertically towards the windshield.

The profile view is mostly wheels, with a low stance and bubble-like roof line swooping front to back.

The new rear wing dominates the vehicles rear, with small cylindrical taillights and centered dual exhausts at its bottom.

Interior

A glimpse inside is what you would expect of a race car. A heavily padded steering wheel is surrounded by red a blue function buttons. The Ferrari logo makes another appearance at the center.

Prominent is a performance display screen which sits where the speedometer and tachometer are normally located.
