The 2014 Detroit Auto Show gave the public a first had glimpse of the new 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600. Known as the company’s flagship model, the 2015 S600 has been upgraded and refined.

Engine

The top of the line Mercedes is equipped with a V12 biturbo engine. Outperforming the previous model, this V12 has an output of 530 horsepower and a displacement of 5980cc.

In addition, you can expect the standard engine features such as hollow stem outlet valves, a one piece chain drive and a cam follower.

The three valve technology feature and the engine control unit are also a part of the S600’s new engine overhaul. These advanced engine features assist the S600 in surpassing the industry emissions qualifications and in having lower combined fuel consumption than the older models of the luxury sedan.

Features

When the S600 launches stateside in March of 2014, customers will have the option to obtain the new touch pad technology. The new feature works much in the same way as the Smartphone, but will be available in different languages.

In addition, the new head’s up display capabilities help drivers with on road distractions, navigation and speed limit control. A start and stop function will also come on all models for the first time in the S600’s history.

Safety

Collision Prevention Assist Plus will be standard and will accompany the advanced Brake assist technology feature. Mercedes has also included the Road Surface Scan System and Active Blind Spot Assist as standards on the new S600.

The advanced safety technology on the S600 was designed to help lessen the severity of collisions when the vehicle reaches certain speeds.
