The updated 2015 Ford Focus made its first appearance a few days ago ahead of its Geneva Motor show debut. To sharpen its focus on the world wide dominant C-segment, Ford has restyled the car’s front and rear and also upgraded the interior.

The improvements include quieter shock-valves, modifications to rear suspension and less-intrusive stability control.

The company has announced that 2 engines will be offered; a standard 2.0 liter 4 cylinder gasoline engine and a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine.

The 1.0 liter engine will only be available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2.0-liter engine is expected to produce 160 hp and a torque of 146 lb-ft.

Exterior

At first glance, you might not realize how much the exterior of this car has changed. However, if you compare pictures of the previous model and the current one, you will realize that the Focus has indeed grown up. The car has revised front & rear fascias.

Apart from this, the car sports a brand new hood, new front fenders and a tailgate. The car’s headlamps are more angular and tail-lamps sitting lower. The chrome at the front gives a much more grown-up Focus rather than a sportier one. Similar changes have been applied to the 4-door.

Interior

Ford went from traditional interior controls to flat touch-sensitive panels and voice controls. The interior has buttons on the dashboard for climate control and for ancillary systems and audio.

There is also a big touch-screen that remains at the center console for navigation, entertainment and 4-quadrant Sync system. There are new seat trims, and all improved Ford AppLink program, heated steering wheel, and a redesigned, easy-to-access glove box.

Safety Features

The car has an on-board radar that is used also for its radar-based blind-spot warning system along with a rear-view camera, both as standard equipment.

Since 2007, when the Nissan Versa first came to the U.S, it became a favorite by many. In 2013, Nissan revamped the Versa for its 2nd generation and added the ‘Note’ name to designate the Hatchback version from Sedan.

This time around, the 2015 Nissan Versa-Note SR spices up the interior and exterior that adds comfort along with a fun driving experience.

Under the hood, the car is powered by an inline 4, 1.6 liter dual overhead cam VVT engine. This produces 109 horsepower at 6,000 rpm with a torque of 107 lbs ft at 4,400 rpm.

As far as fuel efficiency goes, you can expect 31 mpg city/40 mph highway, and 35 mpg combined.

Exterior

The car rides on 16-inch bright alloy wheels in dark-finished contrasting pockets. A spoiler over the rear window give the SR a menacing aura; the sleeker upgraded side mirrors together with chrome SR badges help the Versa Note look more grown up.

The steeply angled hood together with the windshield helps create excellent forward visibility just like the tiny small side windows next to the outside mirrors. The car’s tall roof-line allows great visibility trend all around the car.

Interior

The inside of the SR trim has been treated to a make-over. Seats have a nice looking orange strip down the center with matching orange stitching. This orange contrasts very well with dark suede fabric seats.

The car’s leather-wrapped steering wheel was inspired by the 350Z and even comes with radio controls, Bluetooth and some trip computer buttons.

Other features include cup-holders and a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat (manual).

Another interesting feature is the false floor located in the cargo area; this provides a 6 inch deep of hidden cargo space that is good for hiding tools, valuables and supplies.

The engine is the new twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 that is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. Four wheel-drive is optional.

The EcoBoost is expected to be much more powerful and fuel efficient compared to the previous engine. It is expected to hit the market later this year.

Exterior

It is hard to tell the difference between the 2015 and the 2014 version. This is because the improvements are limited to the new head and taillights, the addition of the LED running lamps together with the restyled bumpers.

The sheet metal used is the same; there is a brand new grille up front and a fender trim has actually been added to the wheel wells.

New wheels are also offered with an option for 22-inch wheels. The base Expedition has a 119-inch wheelbase allowing for 3 rows of seating or 108.3 cubic feet cargo room.

Interior

Few changes have been effected to the interior. The SUV keeps the traditional look. Ford has added a push-button start and the latest connectivity. An 8-inch touch-screen is found on the refreshed console along with upgraded gauges with twin 4.2 inch LCDs.

Passenger comfort is aided by the independent rear suspension that allows the 3rd row of seats’ to be easily folded flat into this car’s floor.

Basically, this means the 3rd row can seat adults. The interior comes in high quality leather in 2 colors; black or Brunello dark red.

The all new 2015 Mercedes-Benz V-Class people mover has been unveiled.

Exterior

The exterior of this sports is a combination of the 12C and P1. However, from the front end, the car is modeled after new P1 super-car.

The car tires are branded MCI and are exclusive to 650S. They were actually developed by Pirelli just for the 650S.

The interior is identical to the 12C. Sufficient leather and suede-finished surfaces have been lavished on the 650S, including the navigation and control system furnished with an updated version of McLaren’s ProActive Chassis-control system.
