Engine & Performance

G-Power has replaced the standard BMW M1 engine and gearbox with the engine and gearbox from the BMW M3 that are bigger than those in the M1 model. In addition, they modified the M3 engine, and the end result is a supercharged engine that generates up to 600 horsepower, 428 pounds-feet of torque and can achieve a top speed of more than 205 mph, making it the fastest car in its class. From a standing start, the car can reach 125 mph in just under 13 seconds.

Supercharger

The supercharger features an air box manufactured from cast aluminum. This houses a large air filter along with a water based cooling system that allows the supercharger to function at optimal temperature.

The net result of fitting the supercharger to the engine is an increase of 40% in torque. The system also results in the engine running efficiently, thereby reducing fuel consumption.

Braking & Suspension

Capable of astonishing speed, it is vital to ensure that the tires, suspension and braking performance of the BMW G1 V8 Hurricane RS are able to cope with all that power.

G-Power opted for Pilot Super Sport tires developed by Michelin, its technology partner, and sourced its braking system to Movit.

The company worked closely with KW to develop a suspension package it calls Clubsport, specifically designed for the G1 V8 Hurricane RS. The task was to come up with a package that allowed for comfort and stability in normal driving conditions while at the same time providing the stability, comfort and control required on a race track, and they have succeeded in doing this in the 2013 G-Power BMW G1 V8 Hurricane RS.

The body is constructed from high strength carbon fiber. It comes with a three-speed gearbox. Exagon even brought in FOCAL to custom design the acoustics of the furtive.

Engine & Battery

Two Siemens motors provide the drive power to the rear wheels. The two motors are seamlessly integrated by electronic controls, and the driving experience is just as if only one motor is being used. Considering the power they deliver, the motors are extremely light, weighing just over 112 lbs each.

The high performance Saft batteries give the 2013 Exagon Furtive-eGT a range of more than 192 miles in combined city and highway driving. These long-lasting batteries have been shown to retain 80% of their power after 3,000 cycles.

2013 Caterham Superlight R600

The 2013 Superlight R600 is a sports car from Caterham, the popular British car manufacturer. It is meant to replace the long tooth Superlight R500.

Caterham intends the vehicle to move into slot in just above the less extreme R300 model, in order to satisfy track drivers.

For that reason, the R600 takes an uncompromising approach, with few concessions to driver or passenger comfort.

Specifications

General Info
Vehicle Type: Super Sport Coupe Est. Market Price: $72,590.00
Performance
Engine: Inline-4 Duratec Displacement: 2.0 Liter
Horsepower: 275 HP Max RPM: NA
Torque: 200 lb-ft Transmission: 6-Speed Seq

Engine

The R600 has a 2.0-liter Duratec engine from Ford, it has been enhanced by Caterham from the original 145 horsepower to a mighty 275 horsepower. Together with the 200 lbs ft of torque, this represents a considerable increase over the old R500 model.

Caterham achieved this increase in power by fitting it with a supercharger. The car is a rear wheel drive vehicle, as is usual for this manufacturer, and a six-speed sequential gearbox is matched to a limited slip differential made by Titan.

Appearance

As is common of the R-series, the R600 is designed to look like a race car, with the handling considered more important by its customers than comfort. This result, the exterior is reminiscent of recent Caterham’s body design, with the marquee’s unmistakable silhouette still evident.

However, there have been changes from the lesser R300 model, this includes the fitting of a rollover cage and – since it is essentially a race car – the removal of it’s headlights.

Handling & Performance

Like all Superlight Caterham’s, the R600 is fitted with 15 inch alloy rims. These wheels are fitted with disc brakes with four-piston calipers. The suspension on this Superlight is based heavily on that which was used in the older R300 model. Official performance figures have not been released, but it is widely expected it will go from 0 to 60 mph is under four seconds, thanks to the extremely lightweight nature of the car.
