Cars manufactured under the BMW 5-Series thrive under the number 5. This series, addressed to the mid-size/executive car market segment, is now on its fifth generation and has sold over 5 million units since its introduction in 1972. The BMW 5-Series was so named because it is the fifth of the “new series” of models after the V-8 and Isetta offerings from the BMW production line. Body styling of the 5-Series was done by Marcello Gandini who based the design on the Bertone 1970 Garmisch 2002ti show car exhibited in Geneva that year.

Two other classy cars sport a similar Gandini design, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta and the Fiat 132. The five generations of models in the BMW 5- Series are differentiated by unique numbers in their chassis. The BMW tradition of naming its cars in three digits also began with the 5-Series, with the first digit indicating the model and following two digits representing the deciliter size of the engine.

Vauxhall’s very own, VXR8 super-saloon has a potent new V8 engine for 2008. This top of the line engine lets the Vauxhall VXR8 to compete at a higher competition with its rivals. Known as the LS3, this new V8 engine has a capacity growing from 5967cc to 6162cc, improving over the LS2 unit.

The power has grown by 14PS to 431PS at 6000rpm. Vauxhall has reached 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds reducing the time with automatic transmissions from its old 5.0 seconds. A factory-built model of the 20-inch rims has been added on for the first time for this model.

Two automobile generations compose the BMW 6-Series. First is the E24 introduced in 1976 as a replacement for the 3.OCS and 3.OCSi also called the E9. The E24, unlike the E9, meets US safety regulations in terms of crash and rollover standards. A 3210 cc engine with 197 PS (145 kW) powers the original E24, which was upgraded to a 3453 cc SOCH, 218 PS (160 kW) in the 1980 model 635CSi for a top speed of 222 km/h (138 mph). The second generation BMW 6-Series featured the E63/E/64 variants. The E63 first came out in 2003 with a 4.4-liter, 325 hp (242 kW) engine. In 2004, the 630i was introduced with an inline six-cylinder engine that is more affordable. This was followed by the introduction of the E64, the first convertible model in the BMW 6-Series.

Versace and Lamborghini has collaborated since 2006 and released their new launch of the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640 Roadster VERSACE. It features a unique collection of accessories and will be viewed on Monday June 23rd, 2008 in Milan. In order to create this monster roadster, Maison Versace’s designers and Lamborghini Design Centre combined together.

Clients can choose their equipments, colors of the exterior, and the interior fittings. Equipped with the very first time, it’s top of the line transparent engine hood to reveal their powerful V12 engine. The seats are fully designed in black and white leather.

The CEO Giancarlo Di Risio has said, “This new Super Car and the exclusive Collection LP640 represent a natural evolution of excellence for both Versace and Lamborghini through the creation of these unique, one-of-a-kind projects.” This car can reach from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, which is questionable.

The top speed of this car is 205 mph. Versace and Lamborghini has made this car not only luxurious, but to be outside of the box and providing its customers with its well performed top speeds.

If one wants to own a full-size luxury car, the most likely option would be to check out the BMW 7-Series. There are five generations to choose from in the 7-series which are only available as sedans. These luxury vehicles were launched in 1977 as the flagship car of BMW. The five generations of the BMW 7-Series are the following: E23 made in 1977 to 1986; E32, 1987 to 1984; E38, 1994 to 2001; E65/E66, 2002 to 2008; and the current F01.

In the North American market, the E23 had two variants, the 733i and the 735i/L7, with 3210 cc and 3453 cc engines, respectively. The E32 variants are powered by engines ranging from 3.0 L to 5.0 L, with all models available as stretched “L” versions featuring extra 10 cm legroom for rear passengers. Continuous model innovations and improvements could be found in the succeeding generations of the BMW 7-Series, best exemplified in the all-aluminum 3.0 L engine that could be found in the current F01/F02.
