Bertone Barchetta Concept

bertone-barchetta-concept.jpg

Geneva heats again the spirit in auto world. A series of producers have already announced the models and concepts that will be revealed with this occasion, and others intend to do so. Geneva is the place where show up series cars, popular cars, but also a series of “weird” stuff or superexclusivist concepts. Some of these never reach the level of finished product and only some of the components are integrated in other models. We still do not know how the story of Bertone Roadster Concept will be finalised, but the car definitely manages in a natural way to capture ones imagination.
The model is a very refined, futuristic and aggressive one and it represents Bertone’s gift at its 95Th anniversary. The car has “pocket” sizes and it is built on FIAT Panda’s platform and the latter’s propeller of 100 HP is enough to get considerable appreciation. The Roadster can have on board 2 persons in an interior as extravagant as the exterior. The main design features come from Fiat 500 with Barchetta bodywork created by Nuccio Bertone (1947).
Why Fiat? Because there is a very strong link between the two companies, their relationship having lasted for more than eighty ears and having generated over fifty successful models concept cars (ex: 850 Spider to the X1/9, Ritmo Cabrio to the Punto Cabrio).
The result of this latest collaboration is a completely above fashion, futuristic car which although shows Bertone traditions (clean cut lines), also projects the concept of Barchetta into the future through great elegance and sophisticated irony.
Master panel beaters (still working for Bertone today) have entirely hand beaten the upper shell and the single piece of aluminium extends from the front tip of the bonnet to embrace the upper part of the sides and rear arches, terminating in the tail. Another patent of Bertone brand, the opening scissors doors are a proof of the company’s attention to the specific issue of accessibility.

Under the futuristic body there is a gear box coming from Panda and the engine that we have mentioned earlier:1.4 litres, 16 valves which develops 100 HP at 600 rpm and a driving torque of 131 NM. Panda reaches 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 185 Km /h. The Concept car is expected to obtain a higher performance due to it’s very light body.

Other Dimensions: Length: 3,585 mm; Width: 1,705 mm; Height: 1,090 mm; Wheelbase: 2,300 mm; Wheels: 20-alloys; Tyres: Pirelli 225/30 R20

bmw-m3-2007-concept.jpgbmw-m3-2007.jpg

BMW M has revealed the first details of the new generation M3 at the Auto Salon from Geneva, with a special concept car. BMW M3 Coupe Concept features a new V8 engine and is scheduled for series production. BMW M3 Coupe concept offers the first information about the production version of the new generation E92 M3 Coupe. The new BMW M3 Concept is based onthe most recently launched BMW Series 3 Coupe (a very appreciated model all over the world, especially version Twin Turbo 335i). For the M3 concept, the body has been redrawn in order to offer the dynamic look that is so appreciated by the enthusiast drivers for over 20 years. The secret of Model M3 is the combination between the day by day car with the power of the engine.
The traditional concept paint finish, “Chrome Shadow” has been used on this long awaited Geneva Show car. The M3 Concept car body has kept without any modifications only the doors boot lid and head and tail lamps. Other than that, the overall silhouette of the 3 Series Coupe has been kept. All the other components have been especially made for the BMW M3 Concept Car. You will be amazed by the most unique exterior aesthetics, which brings into light its superior power. The front apron is dominated by three extra-large air intakes, making it possible for the V8 engine to “devour” air at a faster rate than the previous straight six-cylinder engine.
This new vehicle has a great level of agility and driving stability, symbolised by the muscular front wheel arches which together with the forged 19-inch light alloy rims in the classic Y-spoke design emphasise the vehicle’s wide track.

BMW M3 represents the highest definition of driving excellence, and the concept revealed at Geneva Motor Show represents more than a few clues on the model that will be soon driven, said Guenther Seemann, Manager of BMW Group Australia.

Lamborghini Alar 777 Exotic Car

lamburghini-alar-777.jpg

To everybody’s surprise, the newest Lamborghini comes from Argentina. ALAR is the name and it has as base the old version of Diablo V12. The official distributor of the Lamborghini brand in Argentina could create his own line of models, using the Italian brand. Apparently an Argentinean by the name of Joan Ferci has somehow acquired exclusive rights to build custom Lamborghinis that retain the Italian marque’s historic name and feature an official badge of the raging bull on the front end.
He’s created a pair of models in the past called the Coatl and the Eros GT-1, both based off of the Diablo. The Alar 777 will be the third model produced off of the Diablo platform and debut on March 30th in Buenos Aires. The car will produce over 700 horsepower from the Diablo’s V12 motor and reached a claimed top speed of 223 mph.Lamborghini Alar 777 does not seem to be among the favorites of the specialists with too much posing and too extreme, it represents the old Lamborghini style, the old school, by all means.
Indeed, the car seems to looks like something we would get from Too Fast Too Furious or perhaps Need For Speed Underground, which may seem to the Loyal Lamborghini fans a little less appealing. But thinking at the fact that we are talking about the Diablo V12 motor, we can still state that this is still a pretty cool car after all.

2008 Bentley Brooklands

2008-bentley-brooklands.jpg2008-bentley-brooklands-2.jpg
The British luxurious car constructor Bentley has presented the new coupe Brooklands, model described by the company as “the most exclusive coupe in the world”. The production will be limited at 550 pcs/year, which will be having the most powerful engine ever to be produced by Bentley.he President of Bentley, Mr. Franz-Josef Paefgen, explains the motivation that stood at the base of developing this new coupe: Bentley’s proud sporting pedigree, forged by the exploits of the immortal Bentley Boys on the famous Brooklands racetrack in the 1920s, was the inspiration for our coupe. The Brooklands captures all the style, power and splendour of that era.

The luxury four-seated features a higher-output version of the Azure’s hand-built, 6.75-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, producing 530 hp and 774 lb-ft of torque in the Brooklands. Bentley notes the engine is the latest and greatest evolution of the venerable Crewe-built V8 launched in 1959 as a 6.23-liter unit that produced 200 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission fitted with a semi-automatic manual function.he classic features of Bentley can be found in the interior enriched with what Bentley describes as an extensive range of hides, veneers, carpet tones and safety belt colours. The Brooklands cabin seems to be wider than the old Continental R’s both front and rear and every effort has been made to provide as much leg and headroom as possible. The five gauges on the dashboard just above the sloping centre console hint towards the Bentley’s sporting nature.

A price has not been made public yet, but Brooklands will definitely be the most expensive car in the Bentley line-up, coming in somewhere above the $329,000 Azure two-door convertible.
