2011 Peugeot HX1 Concept

In this day and age, it seems that technological advancements have already come to a point such there are hardly new things which can be invented and discovered. The same is the case in the automobile industry, as there have been so many recent innovations that make the formulation of an entirely novel idea almost impossible.

Style

German car company Peugeot, however, through the creativity of their car stylists and designers, has constantly topped and outdone itself with every release of a new model of their vehicles. And their unparalleled and unique vision of the future for the industry is perfectly exhibited in the 2011 Peugeot HX1 Concept Vehicle, which not only aims to exhibit a unique style and an efficient engine, but also a unique driving experience to its drivers through the use of sensations.

While many car companies aim for their models to be able to withstand the harshest of weather conditions and the most unstable of terrains, the Peugeot HX1 will usher in a new thinking that will shake the very foundations of the car-manufacturing business: The concept of Metamorphosis for vehicles. This only means that instead of trying to withstand all kinds of situations and conditions on the road, the Peugeot HX1 Concept simply adapts to these conditions, which is very much similar to what humans have done and are still doing all these years, and that is to adapt to their environment.

Unique

Of course, a vehicle that seeks to redefine the way cars are built must also have unique features, and the Peugeot HX1 Concept, through its interior which is as unique as its exterior that provides comfort for the six occupants that can fit inside the vehicle. Retractable or what is commonly called as pull-out seats can also be found inside the vehicle as an added means of comfort for its passengers.

And as an added feature, the 2011 Peugeot HX1 Concept will have a concept shoe that will be released along with it, with no less then renowned designer Pierre Perry being the masterminds for its design that is set to encapsulate what the groundbreaking concept car offers to its prospective buyers.

2011 Kicherer Mercedes-Benz C63 T Supersport

An unmodified Mercedes Benz C63 is already powerful with 473hp tucked between the front tires, so any thought of making this into something that can scare a sports car owner is pretty special indeed.

Enter the Kicherer Mercedes-Benz C63 T Supersport. This is one tuner who decided to make the C63 run better than it ever will. Kicherer is a German tuner specializing in exclusive vehicles. They decided to up the ante on this big high performance station wagon, and tune it they did.

Performance

It starts with a big 457 hp, 6.2 liter V8 and tuned it to give 550hp and 640nm of torque, using stainless exhausts, an ecu remapping and a sports air filter. With this increase in power, they then replaced the drive shafts of the car so that it can handle that much power at all times.

They then opted to install big 20 inch wheels and tires to help grip the road even at 320 kph. Not only that, they decided that the car was too high and lowered it, and then fitted composite brake pads to improve the stopping power of the car.

Interior

Aerodynamic enhancements are then applied by Kicherer to improve its handling by adding carbon fiber front splitters, wider wheel arches, side sill set and a set of enhanced side mirror covers; while retouching the interior provided the necessary cool ride factor. The customer has the option of ordering this one of kind super wagon in Nappa leather, Alcantara dashboard, door covers and roof lining.

1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, well known for its revolutionary “Gullwing” doors, made an appearance in a new avatar at Geneva. Mercedes-Benz had sprung a surprise by unveiling a new high performance, open top sports car.

It featured a front end which had vertical headlamp lenses. Among its improved features from its predecessor, the 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, was a redesigned running gear and a newly designed space frame. This made access easier. The doors were hinged in front. These new design features enabled the 300 SL to be equipped with an easy to open soft top roof.

Performance

The new roadster was based on a prototype from the year 1953. After suitable modifications, the engineers at Mercedes-Benz came up with the new 300 SL roadster. It featured a three liter, six cylinder in-line engine which used direct injection of gasoline and this innovative design boosted its power output from 175 hp to 215 hp.

Though the cut down doors proved good for racing, the W 198 II was mounted with conventional front hinged doors. Additional tubing was added to maintain rigidity of the space cage and adds35 kgs to its weight. The new hardtop version meant the addition of weight and consequently the top speed dropped from 161.5 mph to 155 mph. In spite of this the 300 SL was an ideal car for daily use.

Added Features

Many technical improvements were incorporated in the 300 SL roadster. It was equipped with a low pivot, single joint, and swing axel on the rear end. This improved the car’s steering. To improve breaking efficiency, the roadster was fitted with Dunlop disk brakes on front and rear wheels.

The modified light alloy engine block further improved on-road performance. To stay dry in bad weather, Mercedes-Benz equipped the 300 SL with a soft top which was stowed behind the seats. A hardtop version came along later.

Though some fans were unhappy with the changed appearance, the majority liked the new look and performance of the 300 SL roadster and in due course it achieved iconic status.

2012 Carlsson Mercedes-Benz CLS CK63 RS

Carlsson is one of the best tuners of Mercedes-Benz cars. Their wizardry is able to turn the already formidable Benz into opulent machines that push the limits of what’s possible.

This car is the 2012 Carlsson Mercedes-Benz CLS CK63 RS.

Exterior & Interior

The first thing that you’ll notice about this car is that the already svelte shape of this 4 door sedan/coupe was even made more dynamic with the addition of an aerodynamic package created by Carlsson. A combination of diffusers and spoilers provide additional down force and makes this car better looking as a byproduct. And with its 20 inch forged wheels that are lighter by 40 percent (compared to similarly sized wheels), this vehicle is more than ready for action.

Come inside, and both driver and passenger will feel at home. World class craftsmanship, together with exclusive materials such as Alcantara material, wood, and carbon fiber, makes the interior of this car one of the most spectacular ones that you will ever see.

Performance

At the heart of this modified car is a 6.3 liter V8 sourced from AMG. Equipped with 2 turbochargers, the output is boosted to almost 650 horsepower, providing acceleration that can beat most supercars. And while the top speed has not yet been determined, it is safe to say that it is going to be faster than most CLS models.

The Carlsson Mercedes-Benz CLS CK63 RS has managed to make the already magnificent CLS even better in just about every possible virtue. A true epitome of what a true tuner car must be.

2011 Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept

In the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru came up with a new global brand statement, “Confidence in Motion”. This statement is captured perfectly by their new concept car, the 2012 Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept.

The embodiment of “confidence in motion” in this car looks like the sign of what Subaru’s future is to look like.

Design

The Advanced Tourer is a perfect mix of driving dynamics and environmental consciousness. This is a next generation wagon that is firmly targeting the competitive C-segment car market. Utilizing a sharp and unique design not found anywhere else; this intriguing style combines the dynamics usually expected in a sports car and the practicality usually expected in a wagon.

Thanks to its design, the interior features a ton of space, making it friendly for driver, passenger, and luggage. Not only that, the cabin is also decked with high quality materials and a unique glass roof.

Performance

But of course, Subaru is always going to be known as a sports car brand, and the Advanced Tourer lives up to the expectations. Utilizing Subaru’s downsizing concept, a smaller version of Subaru’s venerable horizontally opposed Boxer engine is equipped here. But that doesn’t mean it lacks technology.

The 1600cc Boxer is equipped with direct fuel injection and a turbocharger. The logic of using this engine is to increase overall fuel efficiency while still being able to harness the same levels of power.

This car is also the owner of the world’s first mass produced longitudinally mounted continuously variable transmission. Add Subaru’s Hybrid System, and the 2012 Subaru advanced Tourer Concept is indeed one of the most advanced cars out there.
