    But, what’s with this? You get better mileage in the city than on the highway????????!!!

      Jack,
      Those that get better in the City than on the highway are hybrids. Hybrids use braking to regenerate charge in the battery and therefore increase the mileage when there is a lot of braking. That is why they get better in the city.
