Engine & Performance

Under the hood the Volvo XC60 R-Design offers the same engines as the existing lineup of the model with the exception of the diesel. You may choose between the 3.0 liter, V6, petrol turbo with an output of 325 HP or opt for the Polestar software upgrade that fine tunes the engine and increases the horsepower to 329 HP.

Along with a more powerful engine, the Polestar upgrade also affords you with a flashy gas pedal. You will benefit from increased acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 6.9 seconds.

The powertrain is combined with an automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The new chassis is firmer and lower than its predecessors. Coupled with the existing electronic control systems such as the Engine Drag Control and Advanced Stability Control, this car handles extremely well.

Exterior

The Volvo XC60 R-Design begins with a new more distinctive “nose” in the front. The front fascia includes a flat back grille with the addition of glossy black stripes. The inclusion of shine on the grille is in itself a bold move for the conservative car manufacturer.

Then the new emblem announcing the R-Design is centered on the car’s front accentuates its style even further. Aero fins have become part of the rear diffuser with hi-tech tailpipes on either side.
