Forty years ago, the 1st generation VW Scirocco was released at the International motor show in Geneva. Ever since, the coupe has enriched lives of many who appreciate dynamic performance, style, and an affordable sports car.

For the very first time since, Volkswagen is unveiling its latest generation of this iconic coupe. The 2015 Volkswagen Scirocco was re-revealed at the same Geneva Auto Show. It has been upgraded technically and visually to provide a fun, comfortable driving experience.

Engine & Performance

The engine has been upgraded. You are given three options of the upgraded turbocharged gasoline 4 cylinder engine; a 2.0 liter 208 horsepower; a 2.0 liter, 178 horsepower, and the 1.4 liter, 123 horsepower engines.

There are also the diesel offerings, a 2.0 liter TDI that produces 148 and 181 hp.

A 6 speed manual transmission is standard on all engines while a dual-clutch automatic is optional. According to Volkswagen, the entire engine range is up to 19 % more economical compared to previous models.

Exterior

The major characteristics of this car include a newly designed front & rear. You will find the redesigned bi-xenon headlights together with LED rear lights. At the rear is a swiveling VW logo designed as a handle for opening trunk lid.

On the side, there are door-mirror housings in ‘matte chrome’, side sill extensions that has ‘R’ styling and some brake calipers in black with ‘R’ logo.

The 18 -inch wheel rim has also been redesigned; it is now named ‘Cadiz’ along with a 19 inch alloy wheel version which is offered as an option.

Interior

The interior is equipped with attractive sports seats and a leather steering wheel. The interior features handsome material in winsome colors.

Slight updates have also been made to the boxy dashboard; added are 3 gauges on top of the dashboard that monitor turbo boost pressure, oil temperatures and a stopwatch.

Other cabin upgrades include a new color and trim choices such as ‘Mathew’ fabric and ‘Greg’ faux suede.
