Engine & Performance

During its launch, the Golf Sportsvan will come with a range of 6 new engines; all equipped with a stop-start system as standard and are 19% more fuel-efficient compared to the previous versions.

All engines conform to the Euro-6 emissions standard. The 4 turbocharged petrol direct-injection 1.4 liter engines are available in the following range of horsepower, 84 hp, 109 hp, 124 hp, and 149 hp; while the three turbodiesels come as follows: a 1.6 liter in BlueMotion engine that provides your choice of either 89 or 109 horsepower, and the 2.0 liter giving out 149 horsepower.

The car is 4330 mm long; this makes it 83 mm longer than a regular hatchback, 48 mm longer in the wheelbase but 224 mm shorter that Golf wagon.

These dimensions clearly show that the Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan offers maximum space and versatility. The exterior dimensions give this car a more extended look compared to the Golf plus; the new and sharply contoured styling, gives the car an independent and sophisticated look.

The roof has a distinctive light-refracting edge; this edge extends from the A pillars all the way down to the radiator grille.

The bonnet is contoured upwards in a V-shape and the designers have included power wings with a shoulder. This make the front section look longer, more powerful and impressive.

The designers created an interior that is stylistically sophisticated, clean and fresh. The Sportsvan has a more exclusive, wider and lower dashboard that appears to have wings that unfold from left to right.

The center console is inclined towards the driver with climate control switches, touch screen and the gear shift. Compared to the previous model, the cargo capacity has been increased by 2.6 cu ft with the rear seats in place; with the seats up, you get a total of 53.4 cu ft of cargo room.
