Used Pontiac G8

Pontiac G8 150

The Pontiac G8 is a relative newcomer to General Motor’s Pontiac division. This rear-wheel drive sedan was released for the 2008 model year and filled the gap that the Pontiac Bonneville (discontinued in 2005) and the Grand Prix (discontinued in 2008) left in the Pontiac lineup. The G8 is Pontiac’s return to production of full-size cars after the Bonneville and the short-lived GTO, which was discontinued after 2006. Despite positive reviews by car publications because of its design that is comparable to European four-door sedans and affordability, sales did not really pick up for this line. With lessened production and cut prices, the G8’s inventory improved, with only 5,000 unsold units as of July 2009. For its 2 year run, more than 30,000 G8 units have been sold.

Due to GM’s bankruptcy filed in early 2009, all Pontiac lines, including the G8 will be discontinued by 2010. Despite reports of its revival as other lines in other GM divisions, no confirmation has been made with regards to any good news about the G8’s fate.
