When Plymouth Voyager was introduced to the public it practically captured the magic of station wagons. However, it even surpassed the latter in terms of capacity and ride quality. The first set of Plymouth Voyager was an identical version of the Dodge Sportman, specifically of its capacity to fill-in 12-15 passengers. The only flaw associated with this rebadged car was its poor aerodynamics. But it was solved entirely for its 1990 version as it became more aerodynamic in shape where all models got sliding door on each passenger side. An additional one-piece lift gate made it more identical with the Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country, though Plymouth Voyager remained the standard when it came to minivans.
