The Ford Contour was a compact sedan with four doors. Ford Motor Company manufactured Ford Contour as 1995-2000 models in North America, together with Mercury Mystique which is Contour’s rebadged variant. After Ford stopped the production of Contour and Mystique, the company did not make a replacement in the line-up in North America. However, in Mexico, Contour was replaced by Ford Mondeo which was locally produced.
Ford Motor Company invested 6 billion USD to develop the CDW27 platform. This project aims to further develop Ford Contour, Mercury Mystique and Ford Mondeo in Europe.
