A new race car has been created by the Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg this year, on March 2nd, based on the production CC-model range.The homologated GT1 racer, the CCGT will be presented at the Geneva Show, on March the 3rd.
The Koenigsegg Development team has done a great job by refining the CC into the CCGT. The CCGT engine is based on the Koenigsegg CCX production engine with the superchargers removed but enlarged to 5.0 litre, in order to comply with the ACO and FIA GT1 regulations.
Most manufacturers are trying undergo massive weight saving programs, as the minimum wight allowed for a GTI race car is 1,100kg. Considering the fact that the racing CCGT wighs under 1.000 kg – which gives the possibility to place 100 kg of ballast freely within the car structure. Koenigsegg will definetly have an advantage over the competition. On the other hand, the CCGT has pretty short overhands which could be an issue when it comes to generating enough downforce. Still, by further developing the clever and “slippery” design concept of the CC range, Koenigsegg believes they have created a unique package incorporating a surprising amount of down-force combined with a very compact package and optimal weight distribution. The advantage over most of the competition will definately be seen in the future racing combats, since since the CCGT has a short overall length and low overall height, whilst still maintaining adequate track width and length. The reliability of the race engine is expected be exceptional as it is based on the proven strength and durability of the significantly more powerful road car engine.The race engine is being developed in-house in parallel with the production units by Koenigsegg engineers, supported by Anders Hoglund from Cargine engineering and JP Motorsport.

Maserati Mc12, a road car after the Maserati company produced the FIA GT Championship racing variant can not call it self anything else then a super car. The specialists say that it`s not more than a copy of Enzo Ferrari but taller, longer and wider.

Designed by famous car producers like Giorgetto Giugiaro and Frank Stephenson., the idea for this super car was born even from the time that Ferrari owned Maserati company. They wanted a race car that could match the standards to compete in FIA GT.

With a first name like MCC (Maserati Corse Competizione), the car couldn’t be anything else but a race car.

With a design of the V12 engine that allows equally the distribution of weight, the two door coupe has a luxurious interior made of a mix of gel dressed up in carbon fiber, another very expensive silver material named Brightex, and also the blue leather that gives the wonder car a special look.

The exterior it isn’t going to look down to the interior. The body made of carbon fiber it’s design to help the car achieve the maximum down force in all kinds of roads. Longer and wider then a Hummer, Maserati Mc12 comes only in two colours: white and blue, being dedicated to the America Camoradi racing team of the 1960s.

The V12 Ferrari engine has 232 kilogram, 6 litre (5998 cc) that makes the car touch a maximum torque of 652 Nm (481 lbf-ft) at 5500 rpm and a maximum power of 463 kw (621 bhp) at 7500 rpm. This super car can reach 100 km/h in just 3.8s and 200 km/h in 9.9s and has a maximum speed of 330 km/h.

Even if some people can say that it has a couple of disability like no radio or sound system and it can be a little harder to park because of it’s large size, the comfortability and the luxury of the interior combine with the look and the feeling of the car speeding on any kinds of roads can really deserve the high price of 600.000 euro.

Manufactured by the Lexus division of Toyota Motor Corporation like just a prototype showed in Detroid in 2005, it takes now the new initiative of a road car, the engineers making test at the famous test track in Germany, N-rburgring.

Toyota’s new “secret” car, Lexus LF has a V10 engines and carries a 500 horsepower (373 kW) that make the car reach a top spead of 200 mph (322 km/h). The other clues about how it’s really going to look and what features will have remains unknown until probably early 2008, but the price is expected to go over 100 000$, making it one of the most expensive Japanese super car on the American market.
