Abt Sportsline’s R8 is one of those amazing supercars which is able to bring the magic to the experienced exclusive driver. The new supercar can easily compete with dream cars like Lamborghini’s Gallardo, Ferrari’s F430 or Porsche’s 911 Turbo.
The pure sang racing genes are recognised by the first press reviews which agree that the Kempten based tuner managers have done a great job in developing a great serial model like R8.Roadholding is a special feature of the R8 and is achieved through, unique design of the rear with four inclined exhaust end pipes, rear diffuser and extravagant rear wing. The sideblades and side skirts developed especially for the new ABT R8 enhance aerodynamics. Downforce is improved with add-on parts from super sports cars in the Allg’u-region. This way perfect balance of the front and rear axis is provided and this is a characteristic found only in a few exclusive sports cars. The body is constructed using carbon-fibre parts with high precision and attention to detail and this way it provides great weight reduction and weight distribution, very important feature for high speed range cars.
High tech design touches from Kempten competing with from Maranello or Sant-Agata-Bolognese- will make this car a dream come true for the passionate top class drivers. The engine is a 4.2 litre V8 supercharger, which will bring ecstasy with its 530 Bavarian horsepower, which means 110 HP difference from the serial model. 3.9 seconds is how much it takes the Abt to get from 0 to 100 km/h, being able to reach a top speed of 317 Km/h.As mandatory as the expectations of the driver are, they can certainly be fulfilled by the adjustable in height, pressure and rebound means of suspension.

Thin Bull Lambo have announced a lighter version of model Gallardo that is to make its debut at Geneva. Called “Superleggera”, this model is a replica given preventive to those rumours about a possible Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale. The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera comes with robotized mechanical e-gear as standard, a sports package including shock absorbers and special suede-covered steering wheel. Available colours: Midas Yellow, Borealis Orange, Telesto Gray and Noctis Black. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires (standard) on new Scorpius forged rims accentuate the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.

Excitement at high level and maximum driving pleasure are provided thanks to 10 additional horsepower and a 154 lbs weight reduction, the new range-leading Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.
It needs only 3.8 seconds to go from 0 to 62 mph; 0.2 seconds less than the basic model, and boasting speed and grit under other driving conditions which brings it to first position in its class.
The already low weight (when empty) has been decreased by Lamborghini engineers, by another 100 kg. This task was accomplished by using advanced materials and technologies. The engine hood is made of visible carbon fibre and transparent polycarbonate, a type of material that guarantees lightness and also shows off the magnificent V10. The rear diffuser and underbody covering, the rear-view mirrors, door panels and the central tunnel’s covering are also made of carbon fibre. Further reductions in weight were achieved by replacing certain glass surfaces with transparent polycarbonate. For the interior, monocoque carbon fibre sports seats covered in Alcantara were chosen to ensure restraint of the driver and passenger during the intense lateral accelerations that the Gallardo Superleggera is capable of achieving around curves.
Those with a “fat” bank account will be able to order the new Gallardo starting with March 2007, but the production volume will be smaller than the standard Gallardo model.

BMW Z10 Class Super car

bmw-z10.jpg

BMW has announced that they will unveil in late 2008 a direct competitor for supercars like Audi R8, Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo. This will entitle BMW to have something more to state in the supercars world. It’s known that BMW cars are not exactly the most powerful sports cars, that is why aluminium, carbon fibre and magnesium will be the materials that the car’s body – BMW Z10 – will be made of. The low weight car, around 2645 lbs., will be close as size to Lamborghini Gallardo, except it will have 550 lbs. less in weight. The other dimensions would be: a wheelbase of 2560 mm, overall length of 4300 mm, width of 1900 mm and height of 1165 mm.BMW Z10 will use wind directing elements as active spoilers, which will modify their position by the speed of the car (its one of the first cars to use this concept). The development targets for the Z10 will be a rear/mid-engine supercar that will be powered by V10 turbochargers. The targeted performance for the engine will be of 550hp and it will be accomplished by taking the standard 5.0 litre V10 from M5 and M6 models and tuning it up for the Z10.Taking the 2645 lbs. weight and adding the 550hp output will result a weight ratio of 458 bhp per tone which means it could beat both the Porsche Carrera GT and the Ferrari F430.The Z10 will have a top speed and 195-mph and will make the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 3.8 seconds. There is a supposition that maybe the Z10 will take from the M5 model the 7 speed Sequential Manual Gearbox, which incorporates some important functions and safeguards like: automatic downshift, Slip Control, Hill Detection.Coupe and convertible versions will be available for the BMW Z10 and the Bavarian Company Californian studios will produce it. The price will be somewhere close to 150 000$.
