2014 Smart Fortwo BoConcept Edition

The car industry is replete with collaborations of all kinds, it could be with a clock manufacturer, a fashion designer or in this case a furniture maker. Special edition vehicles have become almost the “norm” rather than the exception.

That brings us to the 2014 smart fortwo BoConcept edition. Daimler AG has teamed up with Bo Design, a Danish company that specializes in interior layouts.

Originally introduced in 1998, the Smart Fortwo is a rear engine vehicle and as its name indicates is built for two.

Engine & Performance

There’s not much room for the drivetrain in the smart fortwo BoConcept edition or the need for much space.

The engine is a 1.0 liter, inline 3, capable of generating 84 horsepower.

Exterior

The exterior of the BoConcept edition is white, complemented with a yellow metallic finish on the side view mirrors and metallic brown roof.

The most impressive feature however the alloy wheels that match the brown hue.

The façade presents an almost “smiley face” persona with two small kidney shaped headlamps on either side of a center grille area. At the bottom front, another mesh honeycomb configuration allows for additional air flow. Running lights are present on each side, in front of the intakes.

The profile is accentuated with the brown roof complement swooshing down the cars side to underneath the door.

A pair of vertical circular taillights sit on either side of the hatchback in the rear.

Interior

Inside the 2014 smart BoConcept edition is the essence of the Bo Design contribution to this project.

The feel of a home living area is created thru brown leather on the seats and door trim. Not to mention the leather steering wheel.

The door panels and backrests are grey. Both the steering wheel and seats have yellow accents and there are 2 instrument gauges surrounded in the lemon shade as well.
