2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The all-new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class was unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto. The new C-Class is much more diverse in power, lighter, and packed with improved safety features. This C-Class comes with all-wheel drive as standard.

The significant improvement come in the use of aluminum, which make it lighter by 221 pounds. The new body structure has increased the rigidity and made the car much safer.

Engine

The 2015 C-Class will be launched in the US with the two engine options. The C300 will sport a 2 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine gives out 235 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

The C400 comes with a 3 liter V6, generating 329 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.

Both engines have been mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The new C-Class is more fuel-efficient, aided by the lighter body.

Safety

It is the safest C-Class yet with safety features such as Attention Assist, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, BAS-Plus Brake Assist System, Distronic Plus, Enhanced Active Lane-Keeping Assist and many more.

Exterior

The exterior is bolder yet tasteful. The car borrows design cues from the S-Class. It come equipped with two front-end treatments – Luxury and Sport.

The Luxury model is inspired from the S-Class and has a three slat grille at the front with a small three pointed star protruding from logo. The sport variant comes with a CLA style aggressive two-slat grille with embedded oversized emblem.

Interior

The interior was given an upgrade, one notch up in terms of luxurious features. The dashboard of the new C-Class is more evocative and the cockpit is full of high-tech goodies borrowed from the S-class.

The interior space has increased, thanks to the bigger overall dimensions of the car. The new C-Class is 3.7 inches longer and 1.5 inches wider than the previous model.
