2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider

The 2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider will be available with a 616 horsepower, 3.8L V8 twin turbo engine. The performance of this engine is further enhanced by the inclusion of a 7-speed SSG dual clutch transmission.

With these great features, this car will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds with the top speed at 204 mph. The engine is made of an Aluminum block along with the cylinder heads. The Spider’s fuel economy figure is the same as that of the coupe at 20 mpg combined, and has an output of 279g/km of carbon dioxide. The McLaren also has monocoque chassis, which weighs 75kg.

Exterior

The McLaren MP4-12C Spider, launched in Volcano Red will also be available in 17 exterior paint finishes. One of the key exterior features is the Retractable hard top, which is operated using a switch in the lower centre console in the cabin.

One unique feature of this hard roof is that, it can be operated while the MP4-12C Spider is moving at a speed of up to 19 mph. The rear windscreen, can also be lowered or raised just by a push of a button. The 12C Spider’s wheel design is available in standard Silver or Stealth finishes. A Diamond Cut finish can be selected for the existing super lightweight and lightweight forged wheel designs. The standard wheel sizes will be 19″ by 8.5″J for the front wheels and 20 by 11″J for the rear ones.

Interior

The interior of the McLaren MP4-12C Spider complements the exterior design. For instance, when the roof is raised, the section under the tonneau can be used to store luggage, providing the customers with up to 52 liters of storage space. A new interior trim has also been developed for the 12C Spider.

You will be able to select from a variety of high quality semi-aniline Alcantara and perforated leather combinations. The interior also has a rollover protection feature, the buttresses behind the driver’s and the passenger’s head and contains a tough steel structure.
