Over the past 5 years the i10 model of Hyundai has emerged as one of the Korean automakers top sellers. In fact, it currently ranks number one in the UK. With this in mind, the 2014 Hyundai i10 has been upgraded in many respects to insure its popularity continues with an eye towards the U.S.

The new i10 is expected to cost more than in previous years, the price increase is well worth it for the tradeoff in improved quality.

Engine & Performance

There are 3 engines available for the i10, a 1.0 liter and a 1.1 liter, both 3 cylinder producing 68 horsepower, and a 1.2 liter, inline 4, generating 85 horsepower.

A Constantly Variable Valve Technology (CVVT) is available on the 1.2 liter which promises optimum fuel efficiency. All the engines can be mated with either a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission.

Exterior

For a “short” car it has a high front façade, with the headlamps resting alongside the hood area. It features a prominent front fender with a lower black mesh grill accentuated by a black bar at its upper end and the Hyundai “H” displayed above that.

There are daytime running lights on each side. The 4 doors of this 5 door hatchback fit snuggly along the cars side with a distinctive black insert integrated at their bottom. The rear view reveals high mounted taillights and newly placed rear dampers that are also functional in providing improved handling.

Interior

Inside the i10 there is more than ample legroom and cargo capacity for a car of its small profile. Features such as a speed limiter cruise control, heated leather steering wheel and climate control afford a bigger car quality level to the i10’s driver and passengers.
