The 2012 Hyundai i40 sedan is available in three trims known as Active, Style and Premium.

Each trim includes 16″ alloy wheels, phone and audio controls fitted on the steering wheel, electrically heated side mirrors, electrically powered windows front and rear and an electric parking brake that includes an function to automatically hold. The side mirrors are also electrically adjustable and fold-able.

Performance

There are three different engine choices depending on the trim. These are a 1.6-liter and a 2-liter gas engine or a 1.7-liter diesel option. The car has a 6-speed manual transmission with optional automatic transmission and steering wheel paddle control available on the Premium version.

Interior & Accessories

The car is roomy and the 60/40 split rear seats are comfortable even with three adults. Both the driver and front passenger seats are electrically adjustable and have built-in lumbar support. The Premium model includes memory functions on the driver’s seat.

The i40 has Bluetooth connectivity and includes voice recognition technology for added safety. A touchscreen navigation system is included as standard on the Style and Premium trims.

The rear view camera displays its images on the screen. The screen also shows guide lines to assist in reversing into narrow spaces. These trims also include front and rear parking sensors.

The Active trim has air-conditioning while the other trims have dual zone climate control and an automatic mist clearing system for the front window. The car is fitted with Hyundai’s Blue Drive system, designed to give greater fuel economy.

Green

This system has an eco function that automatically cuts the engine when the car is not moving and automatically restarts when the accelerator pedal is pushed. The system has an indicator that advises the driver of the best time to change gear. Using these tools effectively helps the diesel version to manage nearly 55 mpg.

The Premium version of the 2012 Hyundai i40 allows for keyless entry and has a start/stop button for the engine. Useful information on each journey is displayed on the full color, centrally mounted LCD screen.
