The Honda Motor Company has always been in the forefront of developing the next generation of cars.

The Honda EV-STER is a concept vehicle for a small electric powered sports car.

It made its public debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2011.

Performance

This car has a dynamic shape which uses unique styling and is environmentally friendly. The EV-STER is powered by electricity and is rear wheel drive. Being a two seater convertible, it has introduced a new concept for electric sports cars, it has a top speed of up to 99 mph.

It also has an acceleration of 0-60 km/hr in 5.0 seconds. Though electric, the car has a relatively long range of 160 kilometers before needing a recharge. The high performance in speed, acceleration and range has been achieved by using carbon fiber composites, to reduce the weight to the maximum extent possible, without compromising on safety.

It is fitted with a 10 kWh lithium ion battery, which has a recharge time of less than three hours for 200 Volts and less than six hours for 100 Volts.

User Friendly

The driver gets a sporty feel as the car has a user friendly twin lever steering. The car has extreme maneuverability, which is an essential characteristic in a sports car. To some extent, the driver can customize the vehicle settings such as the output of the motor and the stiffness of the suspension. This freedom gives the driver unmatched driving pleasure.

Exterior & Interior

The EV-STER features compact external dimensions. It has a length of 3570 mm, width of 1500 mm and a height of 1100 mm. The low height, coupled with innovative styling, makes it aerodynamically efficient.

Honda paid attention to the interior of the EV-STER. The seating is comfortable and all the displays are easy to read. The instrument panel, in addition to the meters, has also the information display consisting of the network display for audio, navigation and internet access.
