Lexus is set to debut its new RC coupe at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The “concept to reality” themed 2015 Lexus RC borrows design cues from the LF-LC concept that was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto show.

Its exterior design includes the lowest and widest application of the Lexus signature spindle grille. Two models will be displayed at the show; the RC 300h hybrid and the RC 350.The RC infuses emotional appeal into the Lexus DNA that is synonymous with reliability, quality and refinement.

Engine

The RC 350 comes with a 3.5 liter, V6 engine and is expected to produce 306 horsepower and 277 pound feet of torque. The RC 300 hybrid will feature a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine that is said to produce roughly 200 horsepower.

Exterior

The Lexus RC has the same exterior design as the Lexus coupe; the differentiating factors are a uniquely low and wide application of the regular spindle grille, and deep contoured lines. Its triangular headlamps evoke the sporty characteristics of the LF-LC design and display the famous “L” shape whenever the low beams are put on.

The RC’s large aluminum wheels are a continuation of the “concept to reality” design philosophy; the wheels can either come in a 10-spoke, 19 inch style or a muscular 5-spoke, 18-inch style.

In order to give the RC a deeper look, Lexus has adopted a painting process that uses several layers of deeper colors and clear coating.

Interior

For its interior, the new RC receives a custom develop lighting package which makes the car’s interior sporty and sleek. Lexus also designed a special interior tone called “clove”; in order to make the interior more luxurious.

They have also integrated genuine Shimamoku wood trims. The cockpit has been divided into display and operational zones. The top zone has a 7-inch navigation screen and an instrument panel while the layered center console utilizes a remote touch interface.

The first time Dodge used the moniker “shaker” was in the 1970s when the challenger’s special hood was unveiled. The “Shaker” has made a comeback.

The 2014 Dodge Challenger RT Shaker features unique throwback muscle-car cues that are bound to be a notable addition to the Challenger lineup.

Only 1000 units of these will be available.

As the name suggests, the RT Shaker has the legendary “shaker” hood popping out at the center. The new rendering receives an updated exterior design and scant packages that give it improved engine output.

The Challenger Shake comes with a 5.7 liter, HEMI® V8 engine under the hood. In order to improve performance and airflow, the engine is aided by an optimized air box, conical air filter, and a Mopar cold-air intake system.

The performance specs of the car are yet to be released; however, it is believed that the RT Shaker model will have a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

Exterior

Just like the 1970s model, the 2014 Challenger Shaker has a satin black “shaker hood”, gloss-black fuel filler door and a body color grille surround. In order to increase the down force when traveling at high speeds, Dodge has added a new deck-lid, satin black spoiler.

The RT Shaker comes in six main colors; vibrant header orange, TorRed, Pitch black, Bright white, Plum crazy and billet silver metallic.

Interior

The upgraded interior of the RT Shaker features high-performance seats wrapped in Radar Red leather with Radar Red stitching or Dark Grey Nappa leather with Sepia accent stitching.

A shaker logo is embroidered at the back of each seat. The new Shaker also receives a performance steering wheel with a leather finish and integrated car controls.

This RT has a unique center-console bezel and instrument panel. It comes with a 6.5 inch touchscreen navigation system that goes with a console armrest wrapped in leather.

The 2014 Grand Cherokee features a 24-valve 3.0 liter Eco-Diesel V6 engine that is capable of delivering a maximum of 240 hp and 420 pound feet of torque. The Eco-Diesel will only be available for the Limited, Overland, and Summit trims.

The other engine available include an updated 5.7 liter V8, the base 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine and the 6.4 liter HEMI V8.

Select-Terrain traction control system continues to be part of this legendary off road system. Traction is enhanced by either the Quadra-Tac II or Quadra-Drive II four wheel drive systems. With the proper towing attachments, the Grand Cherokee is capable of towing up to 7400 lbs.

All trims come with an eight speed transmission.In order to improve fuel economy, the 2014 models have an Eco Mode that optimizes the transmission’s shift schedule.

Exterior

The exterior is attractive and maintains Jeep’s simple and aggressive appearance .The upper grille is slightly shorter with its slimmer headlamps. The added fog lamps are raised making them more pronounced within the Grand Cherokee’s fascia design.

The rear receives new, larger LED tail lights. The rear is enhanced by a larger and more aerodynamic spoiler, complimented by re-designed tailgate.

Interior

The interior has been revised with new Uconnect 8.4-inch or five inch touchscreen coupled with a leather wrapped E-shifter for the 8-speed transmission. The 2014 model also has a 3-spoke steering wheel wrapped in quality leather.

In order to ease connectivity, the front passenger and the driver have access to a 12-volt DC power outlet, SD, AUX and USB ports located at the bottom the vehicle’s center stack. The rear passengers will have sufficient leg room and enough juice to share when charging their electronic devices.

The Nissan Qashqai was first introduced in 2007. It enjoyed instant success as one of the first smaller, yet still family orientated SUV’s on the market. Competitors began to react to this phenomenon by unveiling their own versions.

The 2014 Nissan Qashqai shares the same platform as the X-Trail. As a matter of fact, the X-Trail will be Nissans preferred 7 seat SUV next year as opposed to the current Qashqai +2. The 2014 Qashqai which was designed and built in Britain, and is scheduled to be out in January of 2014.

Under the hood of the Qashqai, you have five engine options to choose from. Beginning with the 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter, petrol engines, and the 1.5 liter dCi, 1.6 liter dCi, and 2.0 liter dCi diesel engines that come all come in Turbo.

Three transmission options are available, a 5 speed manual, 6 speed manual, and CVT. Four wheel drive is only available for the Tekna trim. All of these engines have great fuel efficiency.

Speculation has it that a 1.6 Liter, 148 horsepower engine may be available in June 2014.

Exterior

There are also similarities between the Qashqai and the X-Trail in appearance. The Qashqai has a more prominent pointed nose that includes front running lights.

The profile view finds a clamshell like roof with luggage rack bars and flowing lines that begin with the swept back headlight compartment on the side front fender and ends at the taillights wing tip. In between are swoosh-like creases while the bottom is bordered in black around the wheel wells and below the doors.

The rear is rounded with an integrated spoiler on top. The rear matches the cars lower sides with its black bumper.

Interior

The dashboard of up and coming Nissan Qashqai is a made up of accessible buttons and knobs with the use of improved materials all around.

Engine & Performance

Under the PPV’s hood is a 5.3 liter, EcoTec3 V-8 engine that generates 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough for pursuit purposes.

The powerful engine is supported by a HydraMatic 6L80, an exclusively tuned automatic transmission. The upgraded 770 cold cranking amp electric battery allows all the essential gadgets in the police vehicle to function without draining the systems main power source.

Exterior

On the outside, it is a Tahoe in a police outfit. GM added a set of red/blue stripes on the top. The high strength steel used is new to the Tahoe PPV which makes the vehicle body is firmer.

Regular equipment that has been incorporated are rear view camera and security enhanced door-locks along with side-milled keys.

Interior

Inside, the Tahoe PPV wraps the standard police makeover, and also the typical features including On Star Bluetooth, lane departure warning, steering column lock, and an 110V outlet to go with the park-assist feature.

Brakes
