Volkswagen Beetle is an iconic brand loved all over the world. Volkswagen has unveiled a new rugged version of the Beetle at the recent Auto Show in Detroit, called the Beetle Dune concept.

To transform the civic bug into a rugged machine, VW has increased the ground clearance of the vehicle by 2 inches. The 2014 VW Beetle Dune concept is also wider by 0.8 inches and taller by 0.5 inches, as compared to the current production version.

Dune concept is powered by a 210 horsepower turbocharged 2 liter engine, mated to a six-speed manual or DSG transmission. The Beetle Dune goes from 0-62 mph in 7.3 seconds, making it lively for its size.

Though the Beetle Dune is a concept car, and there is no word whether VW decides to take this to production. As of now, there is no confirmation.

Exterior

The concept is showcased in a yellow-orange metallic color called ‘Arizona’, which fits stunningly well with the sporty look of the Dune concept.

The Beetle Dune uses matte finish design elements in black around wheel arches and brushed aluminum sill panels. Above the side sills, glossy black side trim strips are placed.

The front grille has a honeycomb design, which goes well with the overall look. The hood has undergone a transformation as well with the middle of the hood being raised a bit. The LED fog lamps have been designed in semi-circular shape.

A set of 19-inch five-spoke alloys have been fitted to the Dune concept. The aluminum skid plate adds to the overall rugged design theme of the vehicle. The rear of the car has an interesting ski and snowboarding rack.

Interior

The interior of the Dune concept are as bright as the outside. The dashboard is finished in exterior color.

The central infotainment system boasts of a 7.7 inch AMOLED screen. The seats are covered with a combination of cloth and leather.

The 2014 Volvo XC Coupe Concept is a sporty three-door crossover hatchback worth looking at. It can be described in two words, sleek and safe.

Its sophisticated look makes it stand out among other sports cars on the market because besides being beautifully designed, it is also highly capable and can offer proper protection to the driver. It is sleeker, and safer.

The technical details of this model are not fully known, yet. However, it will surely include Volvo’s recently developed range of four-cylinder engines, as well as the Plug-in Hybrid technology and a raised suspension.

Exterior

German automotive manufacturer BMW released a press announcement related to their upcoming 2015 BMW M3 Sedan. Following the success of the M4 the upcoming model comes with a new engine, exterior lift and improved precision.

BMW’s upcoming M3 is lighter, faster and more stable than the previous generation. Making use of the newest technologies in terms of aerodynamics and traction distribution, the sports car turns into a luxurious and agile sedan.

Much the same as the Cadillac CTS, the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is just the start of this line. Beginning with the coupe and sedan, the Detroit automaker is expected to follow up with a convertible and, perhaps a station wagon.

The coupe is similar to the sedan, sans the two rear doors. It uses the same rear wheel drive platform and engine options. Pricing has yet to be made official, but you’re looking at an MSRP between $35,000 and $40,000. It should be available to the public this summer.

The ATS Coupe will offer two engine choices. The first is a 2.0 Liter, 4 cylinder, generating 272 horsepower. The other is a 3.6 Liter V6, capable of 321 horsepower.

The latter version can move from 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. Both engines are mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission, a 6 speed manual is optional. All wheel drive can be had for a little more.

The wheelbase of the Coupe is identical to the sedan at 109.3 inches. The coupe though, has a wider track, allowing for a sportier looking front façade.

The profile of the ATS coupe affords for a flowing line as opposed to the more sculpted appearance of its sedan counterpart.

Other aspects of the vehicles exterior are differentiated by a more provocative and powerful stance on the roof-line, doors, rear fenders and trunk lid.

Interior

Once inside Cadillac ATS Coupe, you will notice the 3 window instrument panel cluster, along with an interactive center console including an 8″ LCD touch screen. Cadillac’s well renowned “CUE” system is of course available, featuring Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Sirius XM satellite radio and the OnStar 4G LTE system.
