2012 H&R Springs Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Project Legend

Legends are hard to come by, especially in the automotive world. These slots are usually occupied by super exclusive vehicles that defy the limits of their time, but there are cars that were able to achieve legend status by performing superbly while being affordable. One of these legends is the Ford Mustang.

As a salute to the legend, H&R Springs created a limited edition Mustang. This is the 2012 H&R Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Project Legend.

H&R

H&R has been known as a manufacturer who has been able to produce time and again American cars inspired by European tuning techniques. However, it deserves to be noted that compared to most tuner cars, H&R made an effort to retain the natural essence of the Mustang.

Of course, as one of the best makers of suspension components in the world, H&R focused on the suspension department. Thanks to updated coil-overs and sway bars that have been tested in perhaps the world’s toughest race track, the Nurburgring, this endows the Project Legend quick cornering, sharp response and optimal feedback. And when coupled with 20 inch OZ Raffaello III wheels in both the front and rear, this car’s stance is formidable.

Performance

Then the trusty 5.0 liter Ford engine received much deserved love. With modified intake and exhaust systems and an Edelbrock supercharger, this Mustang has a maximum output of 640 horsepower.

And with an exclusive body kit and 15 inch disc brakes on all four corners, the H&R Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Project Legend has all the tools to hit the tracks all over the world, and win convincingly just like legends do.

2013 Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid

The 2013 Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid is one of the most innovative cars of the future, and their production will begin in the fall of 2012. Volvo has combined three operating modes within this one model to create a new ultimate car with maximum efficiency.

The Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid runs on electricity and diesel fuel, and the choice of three different operating modes puts the driver directly in control of their environmental footprint.

Driving Mode Options:

-The Pure Mode makes the car run almost entirely on electricity, producing no carbon emissions whatsoever. The average range of driving in this mode is up to 32 miles, depending of course upon the style of driving.

-The Hybrid Mode the car relies on a combination of diesel fuel and the electric battery, greatly reducing the amount of fuel needed to only half of a gallon every 62 miles, allowing you to drive for up to 620 miles. The car starts up in Hybrid Mode automatically.

-In Power Mode the maximum output of power from both the electric battery and the diesel fuel system are accessed to give on demand delivery of true muscle car performance. The acceleration time increases for a rate of 0-62 miles per hour in only 6.2 seconds.

Engine Performance

The engine of the Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid is a powerful 2.4 liter engine. This car also comes with specialty options such as electrical powered four wheel drive that the driver can activate instantly when handling mud, snow and other difficult terrain.

This Volvo hybrid has the added convenience of being rechargeable from most standard power outlets, and the charging time depends upon the amperage rate of the specific outlet used. It can take anywhere between 3.5 to 7.5 hours to fully recharge.

Features

Another amazing ability of this new Volvo hybrid is that it comes with a mobile phone application that allows drivers to turn on their air-conditioning and other features before they reach their car, as well as warn them when it needs recharging.

All of these features make the 2013 Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid the most attractive option as far as environmentally friendly cars go.

2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows Hall of Fame Tribute

Ron Fellows is one man who raced and never looked back. He was the typical race driver who only raced because he wanted to race, not just because we wanted to win.

The result was that Ron Fellows became the most be-medalled race drive to ever drive a race car and became the fastest man to drive a Corvette.

Recognition

Chevrolet thus gave Ron Fellow his due commendation by issuing a Limited Edition Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows tribute car. This special Corvette has a number of features that makes it stand out from the rest of the crowd, literally. The finish was done in Torch Red with white center stripes and complemented by black rims. The interior panel was done in ebony interior and adds a host of accessories to go along with it like a performance pedal package, special seats, steering wheels, arm rests, shifter knob and handbrake handle all done in black suede with read stitching.

The engine received special attention with a Z06 performance package to go along with the six speed transmission, magnetic ride control, the attention grabbing dual mode exhaust that is standard on all corvettes.

Features

Other features that make the Ron Fellows Tribute Corvette easily identified are the red brake calipers, blacked out headlights and housings, a special edition blacked out side mirrors, carbon fiber raised hood and a set of carbon fiber ground effects featuring a carbon fiber front splitter and rocker panel.

Finally, the graphics detailing on the exterior was done in such a way that describes the winning effort that Ron fellows did on each of the cars that he drove during each of his races, including the champion C5.R and the C6.R Corvettes from the American 24 hour version of Le Mans.

2011 Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept

The 2011 Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept was unveiled recently in Tokyo and suggests exactly what Volkswagen have in store for their future vehicles.

Visually, it appears to be a well-sculpted Coupe/SUV hybrid vehicle that successfully bridges the gap between compact SUVs and four-door Coupes.

Unique

The original and innovative Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept car offers drivers the best of two very different worlds. In this car, the design of an SUV and a Coupe have been successfully molded together to produce something that is significantly sportier than your average SUV but a lot more dynamic that your standard Coupe.

The car itself shares popular design features of both cars e.g. the dashboard is raised like in SUV vehicles but the design itself resembles something that you would find in a Coupe. The overhangs are strikingly short both at the front and the back of the vehicle giving the car a distinctly compact look.

Balance

The vehicle’s centre of gravity is low, due to the layout of the drive system and the placement of the battery, so axle loading is balanced. Despite being equipped with many SUV qualities, it has the capability of handling just like a Coupe.

Engine

The Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept car is fitted with a turbo petrol engine and two electric motors (one in the rear, one in the front) and it’s worth noting that this car can travel up to 24 miles (40km) on electric power alone – thanks to the electric drive shaft and all wheel drive system that represents true innovation by Volkswagen!

This car handles off-road just like a true SUV, the front angle approach is less than 25 degrees plus the rear end also offers excellent ground clearance.

Interior

The inside of the Volkswagen Cross Coupe concept is just as aesthetically pleasing as the outside. This four seater car exudes comfort as there is plenty of room on all sides, durable synthetic coverings and the dashboard and other details retain the stylish elements of the Coupe and an SUV brilliantly meshed together!
