Audi Quattro

The Audi Quattro is a rally car manufactured by the Audi in between the years 1980-1991. The Quattro was designed by Jorg Bensinger and it was first displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in the year 1980.

Quattro in European market:
The European versions consisted of a four wheel drive system with 2.1L I5 SOHC engine with an engine capacity of 2144 cc. The engine delivered an output power of 197 bhp and 285 N-m torque at 3500 and it reaches the speed of 60 mph in 7.1 sec and the top speed is about 137 mph.

Audi Quattro 480

In the year 1985 several modifications have been done to the Quattro which included the face lift, headlights and front grille. In the year 1987, a new 2.2L I5 DOHC 20V engine has been used with a capacity of 2226 cc. it delivers an output power of 217 bhp and the top speed is about 143 mph.

Quattro in North American market:
The Quattro was sold in the North America in the year 1983 where 664 units have been sold. The cars in North America featured a 2.1L I5 SOHC 10V engine with an engine capacity of 2144cc and deliver an output power of 160 hp. These cars featured air conditioning, Anti-lock Braking System and leather interiors.

Motorsport Versions:

A1 and A2
This version was launched in the year 1980 and it featured a large body and the engine delivers an output power of 300 bhp and it also won the World Championship rally in the year 1981. The A1 made its debut in the year1983 and was victorious at Rally Portugal and Swedish Rally and the A2 has won eight world rallies.

Sport Quattro
The Sport Quattro was launched in the year 1984; it featured a 2.1L 20V DOHC engine with a capacity of 2133 cc that delivered an output power of 302 bhp. The car featured wider wheels and shorter wheelbase and a total of 224 units have been manufactured in this version.

Sport Quattro S1
The Sport Quattro version has been launched in the year 1984, and it consisted of a 5-cylinder engine with a capacity of 2110 cc that delivered an output power of 470 bhp, it reaches the speed of 62 mph in 3.1 seconds.
