Pontiac Bonneville 150

The Pontiac division of General Motors produced the Pontiac Bonneville since 1957. The last of the Bonnevilles were manufactured in 2005. For its first release in 1957, the car was marketed as a performance vehicle in a limited production. However, its popularity continued until much later. It also holds the distinction of being one of the largest sized Pontiacs built, with its body of its station wagon model measuring 5.8 meters long. When the Pontiac Grand Ville, a car that it shared a platform with, was discontinued in 1975, the Bonneville became Pontiac’s sole top-line full-sized car. In 1976, the car, still then known as the Bonneville Brougham, featured some interior designs that were reminiscent of the Grand Ville as a sort of tribute to the discontinued line.

The Bonneville was downsized in 1971 onwards, from its engine to its length even, in response to the energy crisis of the 1970s. In 1981, the Bonneville was rebranded in the Canadian market, as it was then known as the Parisienne until that year. In 2005, General Motors announced that it would stop producing Bonnevilles for 2006.
