Used Kia

This South Korean car manufacturer was founded in 1944. During that time, Kia manufactures bicycles and steel tubing. Kia changed its name in 1952 to Kyungsung Precision Industries where it makes cars, trucks and motorcycles. By 1986, with its partnership with Ford, Kia was able to make Mazda-based cars. These vehicles were marketed not only in Korea but also around the globe. This was the launching of its famous car, the Kia Pride.

Kia Motors America was founded in the United States in 1992 and its first models to be sold were in the dealerships in Oregon in 1994. At that time, Kia Motor America sold Kia Sephia. A few years later, the Kia Sportage was being sold in North America.

Kia is owned by Hyundai Kia Automotive Group when it started to plunge into bankruptcy in 1997. Even though Ford is a partner of Kia since 1986, it lost to Hyundai Motors Company. Hyundai owned 51% of Kia back then but now, it had divested its shared and now owns only 38.67% of Kia.
