The Ford Explorer Sport Trac, mostly made available in North America, has been manufactured since 2000 by the Ford Motor Company. Based on the highly successful Ford Explorer SUV, is mid-sized in structure, making it smaller than a Ford F-Series van and larger than a Ford Ranger. Demand for the Ford Explorer Sport Trac on its initial release was so high; there was a 3 month waiting list for interested buyers. In the market today, its competitors include the Chevrolet Avalanche, which bigger in size, and the Honda Ridgeline.
Being the first sport utility truck with a body-on-frame design, the model was built on a chassis of the Ford Explorer which was lengthened. An addition to the chassis was a pickup bed, made of plastic composite, is located behind the SUV doors. The Ford Explorer Sport Trac has a rugged, athletic look, with full rubber covering in the SUV’s flooring.
