Since the Ford Bronco was discontinued in 1997, Ford Expedition has taken its place as the Ford Motor Company’s star Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). In its relatively short 13 year history so far, over half a million units have been sold. As full-sized an SUV as can be, it is now the largest SUV produced by Ford. The longer EL/MAX model is measured at 18 ½ feet long. The Ford Expedition is now being manufactured at Ford’s Kentucky plant in Louisville where it was moved after production in Wayne, Michigan focused more on Ford Focus units.
Eight passengers can fit the Ford Expedition. It is run by V8 engines. It is known for its spaciousness, which is beneficial for families who want a lot of members seated with room for cargo left. The model has also gone environment-friendly, adapting a FlexFuel capability for its 2009 models. Flexfuel technology allows the SUV to run on wither gasoline, E85 gas, or a combination of both.
