An entry-level sport sedan, the Cadillac CTS is the only small car produced by Cadillac that has attracted many buyers. Years before the CTS debuted, Cadillac had never attempted to create smaller cars. When Cadillac finally produced small cars, a lot of consumers were not too keen on the new products. The Cadillac CTS, however, was an exception. Cadillac used extensive research and development work as well as revolutionary design in manufacturing the CTS.
Cadillac produced two generations of the CTS. One of the company’s well-known models, the first CTS is the only domestic entry-level car that can match the quality of leading Japanese and European entry-level luxury vehicles. Cadillac gave the first generation CTS cars a huge makeover especially in interior design, and this led to the creation of the second-generation Cadillac CTS cars. Released for the 2008 model year, the second-generation CTS sports not only a new look, but also a more powerful machine under its hood. The CTS is powered by either a 3.6-liter DI (direct-injection) V6 engine rated at 304 horsepower or a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 258 horsepower.
