It was Ian Callum who designed British car maker's flagship vehicle, the Aston Martin Vanquish. This grand tourer was introduced in 2001. This Aston Martin car came into public prominence when it was featured in the film Die another Day, a James Bond movie. The Vanquish was discontinued for the 2007 model year and a replacement in 2010 is still pending, with the Aston Martin DBS V12 temporary replacing it.
The Vanquish was virtually unchanged for its first four years, until 2005 when the Vanquish S model was introduced with a more powerful engine, new wheels, and revisions in style and design. A Sports Dynamic Pack was also introduced as an option with sportier features, including suspension, steering, and brakes. The last of the Vanquish cars were produced with the introduction of the Vanquish Ultimate Edition in black exteriors, interiors that were upgraded, and sill plaques that were personalized. This Edition also featured a stick-shift manual transmission.
