British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin has used the name Aston Martin Vantage name to indicate a vehicle that is a high-performance version of a previous model made. An example of this would be the Vantage manufactured on 1972 - 1973, as this was a version of the Aston Martin DBS with straight-6 power.
The Vantage usually includes a grille that is similar to the DB6 but with a different front clip with 2 headlights. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage was introduced in 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show for the 2006 model year. This two seater coupé with two doors has both strength and lightness with its bonded aluminum body. 2008 saw some changes in the Aston Martin Vantage, including the transmission, engine, appearance, and suspension. A thinner liner allows a larger 4.7 L engine fuel capacity. There was also an increased cylinder bore and stroke, resulting to a modified total displacement of 4735 cc. The 2008 model also saw a modification in the dry sump lubrication system.
