Used Aston Martin

Aston Martin, officially known as Aston Martin Lagonda Limited, is based in the United Kingdom, and manufactures luxury sports cars. The company’s base is in Gaydon in the county of Warwickshire, England. The company’s name is from one of its founders, Lionel Martin. “Aston” is derived from the Aston Hill speed hill climb in Buckinghamshire. In 1991, ownership of the company was transferred to American car giant Ford. In turn, Ford placed Aston in its Premier Automotive Group, ramping up production and increasing the number of manufacturing facilities, including a new plant in Bloxham.

Aston Martin Racing was established in 2003, signaling Aston Martin’s return to motor racing. Currently, an Aston Martin vehicle, the DBR9, is one of the cars competing in sports car races including the 24-hour Le Mans car race, in the GT class. Ford Motors sold part mof the company in 2007 to a joint venture company with Investment Dar, Adeem Investment of Kuwait, and English businessman John Sinders as co-owners. Ford has retained an 8% share in the US$925 million company.
