The City of San Jose in California is known to be the tenth-largest city in the country. It was first known as El Pueblo de San Jose de Guadalupe back in 1777. In the 90’s, this city became known as the heart of the technological industry. Since then, it has been known as the Capital of Silicon Valley. The city has a population of over one million in 2009. It is also known to be among the safest cities in the country.
The Circle of Palms Plaza is practically the most popular historical landmark in this city. This is known to have two rows rings of palm trees surrounding the state seal of California. It is also known as the sight of the first capitol. There is also the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden which exhibits over four thousand rose bushes in a five and a half acre park. It also stands with pride when it comes to their library system which provides excellent collections for education.
San Jose is a part of California’s bay area, therefore it enjoys some of the same Mediterranean climate. As it is found further inland, it provides a semiarid ambiance as its three sides are bounded and protected by the mountains. The coolest times of the year is during November through February where the temperature is about fifteen to nineteen degrees at and an average. While the warmest times is during the summer from July through October where the temperature rises from twenty-seven to twenty-nine degrees Celsius. This place experiences very minimal times of rainfall and has about three hundred days of pure sunshine.
