Used Cars in Milwaukee

Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin. Records show that the city has an area of 96.9 square miles most of which is land. It lies along the Lake Michigan which greatly affected its economy especially during the early days.

Milwaukee is located in the Great Lakes Region. This means that weather conditions can just abruptly change. The warmest month is July when temperature can be as high as 82 0F while the coldest month is January when the temperature can be as low as 13 0F. Its nearness to Lake Michigan causes lake breeze to flow inland. This makes temperature cooler. But as the night sets in there is a reverse in wind flow which causes warmer temperature during late nights.

The city was once the top beer maker in the country due to the presence of a good number of major brewing companies and a lot of smaller ones. Now it only ranks seconds in this area because only one major brewing company remains. There are still smaller ones that help employ a lot of residents.

Its proximity to Lake Michigan made it a home to many industries like shipping and stockyards. Easy transport of goods made it as the largest shipper of wheat in the early days.

Today, the city follows a very systematic layout. It follows a grid system except in outskirts where a freer system had been adopted. This systematic nature also holds true with how the streets are ‘named’. The north-south streets are numbered while east-west streets are named.

Milwaukee is the place to be if you like water adventures. It is a venue for many activities like sailing and windsurfing.

The city is also known for its culture preservation. It has several museums for different fields like the arts, social and cultural history and science and natural history.

Milwaukee has the nickname “City of Festivals” because of the many festivals it hosts some of which are Wisconsin State Fair and Summerfest. The Summerfest holds the record as the largest music festival in the world. Aside from this, the city is also home to the largest operating model railroad show in the US, the Trainfest.
