The fourteenth largest city in the United States is Indianapolis. The name literally means the city of Indiana and is the capital city of the state of Indiana. It holds a population of about eight hundred thousand residents.
This place is known for its humid continental climate, which is presented in its four seasons of the year. Summers in Indianapolis are known to be rather warm and humid. Pleasant climates are around the autumn and winter seasons. Spring on the other hand is less predictable as the weather can vary. There are some days during the spring where the temperature drops or rises and is followed by snowfall.
You can find the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument at the heart of Indianapolis. It stands in the middle of the monument circle and is shown on the city’s flag. The Indiana World War Memorial Plaza is also found in the city. It is a five-block plaza that was built in memoriam to the Hoosiers who fought during American wars.
Indianapolis has become well known for its rich and dedicated support for music and culture. This place has been known to be the home of the Bands of America. It also hosts the Indy Jazz Fest, Symphony On The Prairie and Drums Corps International. They also annually hold the Indiana Black Expo, Fiesta Indianapolis, Indy Irish Festival, Italian Street Festival, German Fest, Indy Greek Festival, Indy Pride Festival and a lot more. Apart from these, Indianapolis is also best known for its motoring sport highlights such as the world famous Indianapolis 500, Allstate 500 and the MotoGP.
