The full-size car Chevrolet Bel Air is an automobile iconic of the 1950s. It first rolled out from the General Motors assembly lines in 1950 as a convertible but with a non-detachable top, and hence its original name Bel Air Hardtop.
This revolutionary style established a pattern that lasted for decades, up to 1975 in the US and lasting till 1981 in the Canadian market, stringing up altogether eight Chevrolet Bel Air generations.
The first generation easily ranks among today’s car classics and came in five body styles, the two-door hardtop, two- and four-door sedans, two-door convertible and four-door station wagon distinctive for its wood grain trim around the side windows.
