The 2012 Peugeot 208 XY Concept made a successful launch at the Geneva Motor Show held in March in the super-mini section.
The 208 XY Concept is designed with city dwellers in mind. It is a compact car with an individual design and distinctive features.
Stylish detailing has been incorporated into the headlamps making them striking and clearly noticeable both night and day. The lamps are designed using Full-LED technology which is a novel concept in headlamps.
The main shaft of light from the headlamps is encircled by the front directional indicators and creates an impression of the new Peugeot 208 XY Concept of having irises. When the headlamps are put on full beam they appear to have catlike pupils.
The meticulous and trendy designing extends through the whole exterior. Special 'Pulsion' paint works at giving the car a different appearance depending on the distance and angle it is being viewed from. The transformation is magical and is made possible because of the perfect application of exactly 16 coats of special paint and lacquer.
Wing extensions are prominent on the wheel arches, which is a good thing as it gives it a striking look. Sills on the bodywork further augments the look of the car.
Its interior is no less impressive as the exterior. Crimson leather trimmings cover the sides, dashboard, steering wheel, arm rests and gear lever gaiter. The glass roof has black leather trim surrounding it. Seats are dressed in light grey leather with crimson pin stripes to match the rest of the interiors.
With a 1.6 liter e-HDi engine that produces 115 hp, the Concept is a powerful machine. In addition the car is aided by a 6 speed manual gearbox which makes driving a pleasure. It is an attractive car that is bound to make heads turn where ever it goes.
