2014 McLaren 12C GT Sprint

McLaren has expanded its 12C Series of vehicles with the GT Sprint. It should be noted, the 2014 McLaren 12C GT Sprint is currently for on track use only.

It is expected the British car manufacturer will eventually incorporate many of its features into a production street model.

Engine & Performance

As you might expect, given its reputation, the McLaren 12C GT Sprint will stay with the 3.8 liter, V8, twin turbo engine but this model will feature a central front radiator for cooling and an exclusive oil system.

The engine continues to provide 616 horsepower at 7500 rpm and a torque of 443 at 3000-7000 rpm. It is paired with a 7-speed twin- clutch gearbox. The GT Sprint will move from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 207 mph.

Exterior

The bonnet of the 12C GT Sprint appears to have been inspired by the 12C GT3. The front features a more predominant bumper, a carbon fiber splitter, front wing louvers and radiator exit ducts.

The wind screen is made of polycarbonate to keep the cars weight at a minimum. Behind the car that provides extra down force comes from a carbon fiber rear wing.

The 19 inch wheels are center locking and adorned with Pirelli racing slick tires. The car contains an on board jacking system. Overall the vehicle will sit 1.5 inches lower than other 12C Series models.2014-McLaren-12C-GT-Sprint-daytime-run B

Interior

Inside the 2014 12C GT Sprint, safety is job number one. The interior is equipped with an integrated fire extinguishing setup and FIA approved roll cage.

The racing seat is constructed of a lightweight composite with a fully reinforced 6 point harness mechanism.
