2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray

We have not seen the name "Stingray" on a Corvette since the days of the C3.

With the introduction of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray, the moniker has returned along with a truly new model of the iconic American sports car.

"New" is the buzz word surrounding the C7, given its body redesign, improved interior and more powerful engine. It is also being marketed as the most fuel efficient sports car available.2014-Chevrolet-Corvette-C7-Stingray-near-my-house A

Exterior

Most people considered the Corvette C6 to be just a facelift version of the C5. With the C7 Stingray, what you get is an extreme makeover.

The front of the C7 sports an almost sly smile when viewed at an angle which seems just right for this menacing machine. The headlights have been changed, featuring standard LED daytime running lights.

The vaunted Corvette insignia spreads its wings on the front center hovering above the black mesh air intakes in the lower front bumper.

The profile is as contoured and sleek as ever. The Corvettes new rear is reminiscent of the Camaro, but for the most part, all the vents and tailpipes to emphasize its performance as it blows past you.

The C7 has quadruple taillights, like its predecessors, to go with sports quad tailpipes below at the center of the rear bumper. Once again the Corvette logo, along with the name, are displayed on the rear at the center.

Interior

In the past some complaints were made regarding the quality of the Corvettes interior. Those critics will go silent when they sit in the 2014 C7 Stingray. Plastic have been replaced with soft quality materials and leather.

All instrumentation and controls have been located ergonomically and angled toward the driver. Just a short reach away are dual 8" configurable infotainment and driver screens.

There is also keyless entry, push button start and a 9 speaker Bose sound system to go with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB card.

The 2014 Corvette C7 should be available soon, with an official release timeframe in the third quarter of 2013. The MSRP of the base model (1LT) will be $51,995.

However, with a multitude of trim line offerings and optional packages you could spend up to $75,000+.
