Recently launched was the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe police patrol vehicle, or PPV in short. The Tahoe is Chevy’s best selling police cruiser.
In order to assist law enforcement officers, the brand-new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV comes with the right tools to support pursuit performance. It’ll be available in three models – 2 wheel drive and all wheel drive, and a special service model, 4 wheel drive pursuit vehicle.

Engine & Performance
Under the PPV’s hood is a 5.3 liter, EcoTec3 V-8 engine that generates 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough for pursuit purposes.
The powerful engine is supported by a HydraMatic 6L80, an exclusively tuned automatic transmission. The upgraded 770 cold cranking amp electric battery allows all the essential gadgets in the police vehicle to function without draining the systems main power source.
Exterior
On the outside, it is a Tahoe in a police outfit. GM added a set of red/blue stripes on the top. The high strength steel used is new to the Tahoe PPV which makes the vehicle body is firmer.
Regular equipment that has been incorporated are rear view camera and security enhanced door-locks along with side-milled keys.
Interior
Inside, the Tahoe PPV wraps the standard police makeover, and also the typical features including On Star Bluetooth, lane departure warning, steering column lock, and an 110V outlet to go with the park-assist feature.
Brakes
As police vehicle engage in quick stops and starts, the Tahoe brake system is able to withstand the pressure. To assist in this particular area, Chevy/GM has outfitted the PPV with ‘heavy-duty’ ABS brakes that is featured discs on all 4-wheels and calibrated according to police specs.
