Honda of Japan is one of the leading names in the market not just in the eyes of the consumers but also in the eyes of industry observers. For 2009, Honda once again scored a coup by topping Consumer Report’s Top Picks. This means that the carmaker’s automobiles are deemed best overall when these are subjected to road tests, tested for reliability and when tested for safety. This is not the first time that the company scored big in tests like this one. This accomplishment solidifies its standing as one of the Big Asian Four automobile manufacturers.
The road to the top was not easy; the company started with the production of motorbike engines in 1946 and after two years the Honda Motor was born. The first automobile produced was the T630 pick-up and first car for the company was the S500. Right now the company’s production line is headed by Honda Civic and the Accord- both considered as one of the leaders in the market.
