Lotus

As the saying goes, things are not always what they seem. Do not be fooled by the sweet name, because if you do, you might lose your head, literally and figuratively, when a Lotus car proves you wrong with its speed.

Lotus Cars is a British automotive company in Hethel, Norfolk, England that specializes in the production of sports and racing cars. It was founded by Collin Chapman in 1952, and was originally named Lotus Engineering Ltd. The company is famous for its Team Lotus, an active and competitive sector in Formula One for a period that lasted for 36 years, from 1958 to 1994.

The most recent and strongly awaited Lotus unit is the Lotus Evora, named as “Britain’s Best Driver’s Car 2009” by Autocar, a British magazine for car enthusiasts. It has a breath taking speed of 162 mph and an acceleration of 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. The Evora was also acclaimed as the “Car of the Year 2009” by the EVO magazine, and “Performance Car of the Year 2009” by CAR magazine.
