2014 Alpina BMW B4 Bi-Turbo Coupe

The German tuners from Alpina recently unveiled their version of the BMW 4-series, the 2014 Alpina BMW B4 Bi-Turbo Coupe.

The B4 has been tweaked for added power, stability and a high performance braking system.

Engine

Underneath the hood hides a is a 3.0 liter six cylinder engine capable of a maximum output of 400 horsepower that goes well with the 444 lbs ft of torque.

Its top speed has been limited to 190 mph, while acceleration from 0 to 60 has been clocked at 4.0 seconds. The 8-speed sport-automatic ZF 8HP70 transmission adds zip to the zing of this latest from Alpina.

Fuel economy is projected to be at a combined 31 mpg. Alpina intends to offer an all-wheel drive as an option.

Performance

The visual upgrade helps increase the downforce adding more road grip compared to the stock version. Using a new adaptive sport suspension, the Alpina B4 coupe is able to adapt to driving conditions for superior cornering and precision.

The new torque distribution system gives the car a neutral handling feeling despite the fact that it is a four-wheel drive.

Exterior

On the outside, Alpina improved on the aerodynamics of the B4 Biturbo coupe.

The enhancements include a redesigned lower front bumper, new spoilers and new wheels. The new air intakes in the front serve as an upgrade-assist to the cooling system.

Interior

The interior is decked in leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and heated adjustable sports seats. The rest is nearly identical to the stock version.

It features the same central panel and dashboard combining light brown leather with wood textured elements and an instrument panel and steering wheel in black.

The new Alpina BMW B4 Bi-Turbo Coupe successfully complements the stock version with its improved performance. With more horsepower and improved aerodynamics, the enhanced coupe is capable of reaching top speeds while maintaining precise steering and decent road grip.

These tuners from Germany confirmed that their version of the BMW B4 coupe will be available in the second half of 2014.
