The second generation Audi A3 was introduced in 2003, featuring a more spacious and redesigned interior, new platform and petrol engines with fuel-stratified injection. The Audi A6, already in its third generation after its debut in 1994, is a multi-awarded vehicle. Car and Driver magazine included the second generation A6 in its Ten Best listing for 2000 and 2001.

The Audi A6 updated 2005 model has also been named World Car of the Year. These mid-sized luxury executive autos are manufactured in two body styles, saloon/sedan and estate/wagon (Avant).
