Used Honda CR-V

Honda CR-V 150

As a response to public clamor for a Honda sports utility vehicle, Honda introduced the Honda CR-V in 1996. There are a number of resources that explains the nomenclature of CR-V. There is one resource that says that this refers to ‘Compact Recreational Vehicle’ and another one points to ‘Comfortable Runabout Vehicle’.

No matter what the real meaning is Honda addressed the wants of those in need of sportiness and versatility in their vehicle. The first CR-V was displayed at the Chicago Auto Show of 1996 and due to positive interest to the vehicle, the company decided to introduce the vehicle for production and eventually outpacing in sales the similar vehicles under the Honda fold.

The CR-V is currently on its third generation and the redesigned CR-V was launched in 2007. This version of the CR-V is powered by the company’s K-series 2.4 L and 4 cylinder engine. The 2009 version of the CR-V is available in 8 trims/styles.

Used Honda CRX

Honda CRX 150
Car and Driver calls the Honda CRX as its ‘definitive entry-level sports car’. Others are also one in saying that this Honda entry was one of the best when this was still in production.

Simply put, this Honda entry had its shares of accolades when this was still in production. This was produced from 1983 to 1991 and was available in two generations. This was a 2-door hatch back and was available as a 4-speed automatic or as a 5-speed manual transmission.

Right after the end of its production, the CRX was often seen as one of the popular choices for drag and other forms of racing due to the availability of parts and accessories. Until this time, there have been rumors of a CRX comeback in the market but majority of the rumors have been shot down. The latest is that the Honda CRX will be back as a hybrid vehicle by 2011.

Estimated Price Range for Used Honda CRX: $6,000-$7,000

Used Honda Del Sol

Honda Del Sol 150

The Honda Del Sol was the successor to the CR-X. This 2-seater front engine and front wheel drive convertible debuted first in Japan in 1992 and was made available in the United States in 1993.

The Del Sol is not exactly a ‘convertible’ in the true sense of the word; there is only that convertible free since there is a removable hardtop that can stored in the trunk and there is also the retractable rear window.

This was available in two trim levels when this vehicle was first introduced in the market- S and the SI. The S is the base model of the vehicle, and the Si on the other hand is a level up than the base. The base model features the 1.5 liter SOHC and the 16-valve 4-cylinder engine and fitted with the 13 inches steel wheels. The Si version on the other hand is powered by the VTEC and the 1.6L 16-valve and 4-cylinder engine.

Estimated Price Range for Used Honda Del Sol: $2,000-$8,000
Estimated MPG for Used Honda Del Sol: 24 City/32 Hwy
Available Trims: base, S, Si

Used Honda Element

Honda Element 150

The design and shape of the Honda Element may be considered odd on the road, but the surprising reality is that this form is the one that offers versatility and functionality that cannot be seen on many small wagons and compact SUVs.

This 5-door SUV is a newer entry from Honda having been introduced in the market in 2003. The inspiration for the Element comes from the concept vehicle called the ‘Model X’ that was unveiled in 2001. This concept vehicle then was envisioned as a vehicle that fuses the best features of the pickup truck and the sport utility vehicle, and this concept has been transformed into a reality in the Honda Element.

More than just a passenger SUV, the Element is also designed and optimized to carry large loads. The interior of this SUV is primed up for cargo loading since its floor is made from textured urethane and fabric used is stain-resistant.

Base MSRP for New Honda Element: $20,825
Estimated MPG for Used Honda Element: 20 City/25 Hwy
Available Trims: DX, EX, LX
