Since 1976, Nissan has manufactured the Nissan Maxima, marketed as a full-size four-door sports car. The Maxima started out as the Nissan Bluebird’s version for the upscale market.

An independent line of Maximas were marketed four years later and manufactured from the Nissan Japanese plant in Oppama. Later, assembly of the Maxima also started in Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee plant.

The Maxima goes by other names in other markets, like Nissan Ceiro and Nissan Laurel. The first version of the Maxima was the Nissan Bluebird Maxima equipped with an SOHC L-series I6 engine, which was available in two versions: the Japanese 2.0 L displacement and the made for US market, 2.4 L displacement version.

A redesigned Maxima for model year 2009 was debuted at an international auto show in New York. Improvements such as a version of Nissan’s Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission were unveiled. Currently, no manual version of the Maxima is available.

Used Nissan Murano

In 2002, Nissan manufactured its first crossover SUV, the Nissan Murano. The mid-sized crossover sports utility vehicle went to the market as a 2003 model and was primarily available in the United States and Canada.

Nissan Design America located in La Jolla, California was in charge of the design, and a year later it became available in North America, the European version was released, with only one version. The Murano’s size places it between the Nissan Xterra and Nissan Pathfinder, while its price puts it higher than the Pathfinder.

The name Murano is actually from Italy, where the Murano region is known for production of high-quality hand-blown glass. As for the SUV, it has earned several accolades, including the title of best premium mid-size SUV from AutoPacific and a nomination for 2003 North American Truck of the Year. The current 2009 Murano is available in base S, SL, and the high-end LE trim levels. Added features of the 2009 edition include power fold-up seats, a touch screen navigation system that is based on a hard drive, and wipers that have built-in rain sensors.

Used Nissan Pathfinder

The Nissan Pathfinder, otherwise known as the Terrano, was originally intended as compact SUV in 1986. Now, the Pathfinder/Terrano is marketed by Nissan Motors as mid-size SUVs.

The name difference before was according to markets, as the Pathfinder was only known as such in North America, and it was known in all other markets as the Terrano. This was until 2005, when the integrated name Pathfinder was first made available in the UK.

The platform for the first generation Pathfinder is the WD21. R50 was the platform for the second generation Pathfinder/Terrano, while R51 was the platform for the third generation. The size of the Pathfinder is between a Nissan Murano and Nissan Patrol but is priced between the Nissan Xterra and Nissan Murano. The 2008 Nissan Pathfinder incurred some improvements, including additional new models and a V8 engine borrowed from the Nissan Titan. It was first seen at the Chicago Auto Show in 2007.

Used Nissan Quest

Since 1993, the Nissan Motor Company has been producing a minivan called the Nissan Quest. Since making its debut in the North American International Auto Show of 1992 in Detroit, Michigan, three generations have been produced of this model.

The van’s first generation was a joint effort with Ford Motors. Ford sold a rebadged variant of the model known as the Mercury Villager. Since then, a completely redesigned Nissan Quest was made in 2004, with the Villager being discontinued and a new brand, Mercury Monterey, was marketed.

Along with other Nissan products Altima, Murano, and Maxima, the Nissan Quest has an FF-L platform. The Nissan also shares a 3.5 L VQ engine with the aforementioned cars. As of 2006, the Quest’s suggested retail price is at $24, 150 for the Base model and $33, 650 for the high-end SE model.

For five years, a total of more than 175,000 units of the Quest have been sold. A fourth generation Quest has been announced to be manufactured in Japan only and production of the minivan in the United States will be stopped.

Used Nissan Rogue

The Nissan Rouge is a relative newcomer in the Nissan catalog of vehicles. This compact crossover SUV only started being available in October 2007. It is sold outside North America in a different brand.

It is known as the Qashqai in Europe and in Japan and Australia, it is known as the Dulais. Canadian and American consumers may also know the model as the X-Trail. As an entry-level SUV, it was the supposed replacement of the X-Trail and was first seen in the 2007 North American International Auto Show held in Detroit.

The Rouge has safety features included – airbags in the front, for side-impact airbags and in the side-curtain which has rollover sensors, a monitor for tire pressure, an automatic break system with EBD or electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, and controls for traction and anti-skid.

The Rouge is only available in two trims – the S and SL. The SL differentiates itself from the S, or the base model, with several features such as tinted glass in its rear and alloy wheels that are 17 inches in diameter.
